Abstract

Se describen procesos para producir arginina mediante fermentación en los cuales los azúcares obtenidos mediante la hidrólisis enzimática del almidón a partir de agro-residuos económicos que contienen almidón, tal como el bagazo de la yuca y polvo de semillas del fruto del panapén, se fermentan en presencia de microorganismos para producir un licor fermentado que contiene arginina, y recuperar la arginina del licor. El proceso puede ser económicamente escalado para la producción de arginina a partir de fuentes de azúcar no refinada ya que el mismo produce arginina en elevados rendimientos, cuando se compara con las fuentes sintéticas de carbono más costosas, tal como la dextrosa o la sacarosa.
