Abstract
Las realizaciones de la presente invención comprenden aceros al carbono y métodos de fabricación de tubos de pared gruesa (espesor de pared mayor o igual a aproximadamente 35 mm). En una realización, se procesa una composición de acero que produce un tamaño de grano de austenita previo promedio superior a aproximadamente 15 o 20 µm e inferior a aproximadamente 100 µm. En base a esta composición, se ha determinado una secuencia de enfriado que provee una micro estructura mayor o igual a aproximadamente 50% en volumen, y menor o igual a aproximadamente 50% en volumen bainita inferior, sin formación sustancial de ferrita, bainita superior, o bainita granular. Luego del enfriado, el tubo puede ser sometido a un templado. La resistencia a la fluencia de los tubos enfriados y templados puede ser superior a aproximadamente 450 MPa o 485 MPa y las mediciones de las propiedades mecánicas indican que los tubos enfriados y templados son adecuados para grado 450 MPa y grado 485 MPa, y son resistentes a la fractura por corrosión en presencia de sulfuros.
