Abstract
Un polímero de polietilen tereftalato bio-basado que comprende de aproximadamente 25 a aproximadamente 75 por ciento en peso de un componente de tereftalato y de aproximadamente 20 a aproximadamente 50 por ciento en peso de un componente diol, en donde al menos aproximadamente uno por ciento en peso de al menos uno del componente de tereftalato y/o el componente diol se deriva de al menos un material-bio10 basado. Un método para producir un polímero de polietilen tereftalato bio-basado que comprende la obtención de un componente diol que comprende etilen glicol, la obtención de un componente teretalato que comprende ácido tereftálico, en donde al menos uno del componente diol y/o el componente diol se deriva de al menos un material bio-basado, y la reacción del componente diol y el componente tereftalato para formar un polímero de poietilen tereftalato bio-basado que comprende de aproximadamente 25 a aproximadamente 75 por ciento en peso del componente diol tereftalato y de aproximadamente 20 a aproximadamente 50 por ciento en peso del componente diol.
