Abstract

Se describe un método para producir un poliol de poliéster; el método comprende hacer reaccionar anhídrido ftálico con un diol seleccionado del grupo que consiste en etilenglicol, propilenglicol, 1,3-propanodiol, 2-metil-1,3-propanodiol, neopentilglicol, 1,6-hexanodiol, polietilenglicoles que tienen un peso molecular promedio dentro del intervalo de 200 g/mol a 600 g/mol y mezclas de éstos en una relación molar de diol a anhídrido ftálico dentro del intervalo de 1.1 a 1.6; el poliol de o-ftlalato poliéster resultante tiene un valor hidroxilo en el intervalo de 18 a 400 mg KOH/g, un valor ácido en el intervalo de 0.2 a 5.0 mg KOH/g y 1% en peso o menos de ésteres cíclicos.
