Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a catalizador con una fase activa aplicada sobre óxido de aluminio de la serie de transición, de 0,03 a 3 por ciento por peso de paladio y rodio con una relación ponderal entre el paladio y el rodio de 1:1 hata 20 : 1 como asimismo un contenido de dióxido de cerio, importando el óxido de aluminio en forma de un material granular de 5 a 20 por ciento por peso de dióxido de cerio y hallándose el óxido de aaluminio en forma de un recubrimiento sobre un portador inerte de forma de panal, de cerámica o metal, con un contenido de 25 a 50 por ciento por peso de dióxido de cerio, circunstancia en la cual el óxido de aluminio, antes de la impregnación con la solución de la sal de paladio y rodio, se impregna con una solución acuosa de sal de cerio o hallándose el óxido de aluminio sobre un portador inerte en forma de panal, tambien agregado como compuesto de cerio a modo de una bustancia sólida agregado al óxido de aluminio, y porque la pre-etapa catalizadora obtenida es entonces templada en cada caso al aire a 300 - 950 grados C, preferentemente a 600 - 700 grados C.
