Abstract

본 발명은 액정표시용 기판의 제조시 포토레지스트층의 형성과 제거공정을 생략하여 공정수를 줄인 액정표시용 기판의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 기판(1)의 제조시 포토레지스트를 사용하지 않고 자외선을 조사하지 않았을 때에는 현상액에 의해 분해되지 않으며 자외선을 조사했을 때에는 자외선에 의해 분해되는 감광물질로 된 제2배향층을 제1배향층(7)위에 형성함으로써 공정수가 줄어 들게 되어 제조비용이 감소하며, 또한 공정수의 증가에 의한 기판의 열화도 방지된다.

Claims (2)

  1. 기판(1)에 전극(3)을 형성하는 단계와, 상기한 전극(3)이 형성된 기판(1)위에 제1배향층(7)을 형성하는 단계와, 상기한 제1배향층(7)이 형성된 기판(1)위에 제2배향층(8)을 형성하는 단계와, 제1배향층(7) 및 제2배향층(8)이 형성되어 있는 상기한 기판의 일부 영역에 자외선을 조사하는 단계와, 현상액으로 자외선이 조사된 영역의 제2배향층(8)을 제거하여 제1배향층(7)과 제2배향층이 각각 표면으로 노출되게 하는 단계와, 표면이 노출된 상기한 기판(1)의 제1배향층(7) 및 제2배향층(8)을 러빙하여 각 배향충이 액정에 부여하는 배향규제력을 다르게 하는 단계로 구성된 액정표시용 기판의 제조방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기한 제1배향층(7)으로는 현상액에 의하여 화학적으로 분해되지 않는 물질을 사용하며, 재2배향층(8)으로는 자외선이 조사되지 않았을 때는 현상액에 의하여 분해되지 않지만 자외선이 조사되었을 때에는 현상액에 의해서 분해되는 감광물질을 사용하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시용 기판의 제조방법.
