Abstract

본원은 프로세서군중의어느 하나를 수용할 수 있는 소켓을 가지는데, 그 군은 그들 각각의 기본입력/출력 시스템 코드의 공통성을 가지는 프로세서로 규정되는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템에 대하여 기술된다. 각각의 프로세서는 소켓에 삽입된 핀으로 특정신호를 전달하기 위해 할당된 핀을 가진다. 적어도 하나의 특정신호와 할당된 핀 간의 적어도 2개의 대응 프로세서간에는 부동성이 있다. 이러한 부동성이 존재할 때, 신호는 특별한 형태의 프로세서를 위해 적절히 지정된 핀으로 재차 공급된다.

Claims (8)

  1. 특정신호를 전달하고 소켓을 삽입하기 위해 할당된 핀을 구비한 여러형태의 프로세서중 어느 하나를 수용할 수 있는 프로세서 소켓을 가지되, 상기 프로세서들은 공통 기본 입력/출력 시스템 코드, 및 특정 신호중의 적어도 한 개와 할당된 핀간의 불일치를 가지는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서, (a) 프로세서를 검출하여 표시하기 위해 프로그램된 메모리와, (b) 프로세서의 표시에 의해 결정된 바와 같이, 적어도 하나의 특정신호를 다른 지정핀으로 재차 공급하기 위해 상기 메모리와 프로세서간에 접속된 논리회로로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 논리회로는 프로세서의 표시를 저장하기 위한 레지스터를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 것을 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 논리회로는 상기 레지스터의 출력에 응답하는 프로그램 가능한 논리구조(PAL)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 논리회로는 상기 레지스터의 출력으로부터의 단속신호 및 상기 시스템으로부터의 특징신호를 수신하되, 그의 출력이 각기 지정된 핀으로부터 특정신호를 선택적으로 차단하기 위해 지정된 핀들중의 어느 하나에 접속된 게이트를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 메모리는 기본 입력/출력 시스템 메모리(BIOS)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 메모리는 기본 입력/출력 시스템 메모리(BIOS)를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  7. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 BIOS는 프로세서의 형태를 판독하기 위한 프로그램과, 공통 프로세서의 존재 또는 비존재 여부를 검출하기 위한 프로그램을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
  8. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 BIOS는 프로세서의 형태를 판독하고 그 형태를 코팅하여 레지스터에 저장하기 위한 프로그램과, 공통세서의 존재 또는 비존재 여부를 검출하고, 존재 또는 비존재 여부를 코딩하여 레지스터에 그 코드를 저장하기 위한 프로그램을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디지털 컴퓨터 시스템.
