Claims (17)
- 작은 공산을 사이에 두고 서로 대향하도록 구동전극과 얼라인먼트층이 각각 적층 형성된 한쌍의 투명기판을 배치하고, 상기 공간속에 액정을 충전 밀봉하여 된 액정셀을 갖는 액정표시장치에 있어서, 액정의 분자는 기판표면에 대해 트위스트상태 및 균질 및 유사상태로 기판표면의 수직축을 따라 배향되고, 상기 기판으로부터 임의 거리 격리되어 기판표면에 평행한 평면 내측의 액정분자배향이 상기 평면 내측에서 불규칙한 것이 특징인 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 얼라인먼트층이 연마처리된 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 액정분자의 배향을 방해하는 물질이 첨가된 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 액정배향을 방해하는 물질은 망상물질인 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질은 작은 간격을 사이에 두고 상기 액정층 내측에 불연속으로 형성된 것이 특징인 액정표 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질은 상기 액정내에 분산된 복수의 작은 덩어리들로서 형성된 것이 특징인 액정 표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질은 유기 중합체로 구성된 것이 특징인 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질은 광중합성 중합체인 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질은 굴절률(ηep,ηop)과 액정의 굴절률(ηep,ηop)간의 차는 ±0.1이내인 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질의 분자배향은 액정의 분자배향은 액정의 분자배향에 상응하도록 형성된 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제4항에 있어서, 상기 망상물질의 분자배향은 액정의 분자배향에 상응하며 또한 제조중 상기 구종전극들간에 전압을 공급하는 동안 형성되는 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정셀은 콜레스테릭 액정 또는 치랄 네마틱 액정을 충전 밀봉하여 형성되고, 상기 액정의 트위스트 개시점에서 액정분자 배향이 불규칙하게 되는 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정셀은 콜레스테릭 액정 또는 치랄 네마틱 액정을 충전 밀봉하여 형성되고, 상기 액정의 트위스트 개시점에서 액정분자 배향이 불규칙하며, 상기 액정은 나선축이 투명기판에 수직한 평면나선구조를 가지며 액정층의 두께(d)와 상기 액정의 굴절률부등방성(△n)의 곱(△nㆍd)이 0.4~1.2㎛의 범위내에 있고 또한 상기 액정의 트위스트각이 45°~135°의 범위내인 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 상기 액정셀은 콜레스테릭 액정 또는 치랄 네마틱 액정을 충전 밀봉하여 형성되고, 상기 액정의 트위스트 개시점에서 액정분자 배향이 불규칙하며, 상기 액정층내에 망상물질 또는 작은 입상덩어리들이 형성된 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정셀은 콜레스테릭 액정 또는 치랄 네마틱 액정을 충전 밀봉하여 형성되고, 상기 액정의 트위스트 개시점에서 액정분자 배향이 불규칙하며, 상기 구동전극들상에 형성된 상기 얼라인먼트층들상에 돌출부들이 형성되는 것이 특징인 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정분자 배향의 트위스트 방해 물질은 상기 액정셀에 대해 0.1~20wt%의 양으로 첨가된 것이 특징인 액정표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 기판으로부터 상기 임의 거리는 상기 액정표시판넬의 깊이방향으로 상기 기판의 계면으로부터 상기 기판의 중심까지인 것이 특징인 액정표시장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
