Claims (17)
- 무선주파수(RF) 전력 변조기에 있어서,신호 입력, 신호 출력, 및 제어되는 방식으로 변경되는 전력 공급 입력을 가지는 3-포트 전력 증폭기;상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기의 상기 신호 입력에 인가되는 입력 신호 및 상기 전력 공급 입력에 인가되는 제어가능 전력 공급원을 생성하기 위한 정보 입력에 응답하는 변조기 드라이버를 포함하고,상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기는, 상당한 시간 퍼센트의 선형 동작 영역에서 상기 전력 증폭기를 동작하지 않고, 2가지 상태들, 하드-온(hard-on) 상태와 하드-오프(hard-off) 상태 사이에서 반복적으로 구동되는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기의 출력 신호의 적어도 한개의 특성을 측정하기 위한 수단, 및 상기 측정 수단의 측정에 응답하여 캘리브레이션 팩터를 생성하기 위한 수단을 구비하는 캘리브레이션 루프를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제2항에 있어서, 상기 캘리브레이션 팩터는 상기 입력 신호의 적어도 한개 및 상기 제어가능 전력 공급원이 변경되도록 하기 위해 상기 변조기 드라이버에 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 변조기 드라이버와 상기 캘리브레이션 루프는 오픈-루프 방식으로 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 변조기 드라이버는 적어도 제1 및 제2 정량들을 생성하기 위한 정보 신호에 응답하는 신호 맵과, 상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기의 상기 입력 신호를 생성하기 위한 상기 정량들의 적어도 한개에 응답하는 위상 변조 신호 발생기, 및 상기 제어가능 전력 공급원을 생성하기 위해 상기 정량들의 적어도 한개에 응답하는 크기 제어기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 신호 맵은 극성 신호 맵이고, 상기 정량들은 크기 양 및 각도 양을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 신호 맵은 직교 신호 맵이고, 직교를 극성 변환하여 크기 양 및 각도 양을 생성하기 위한 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2 정량들은 I 및 Q 신호들이고, 상기 위상 변조 신호 발생기는 상기 입력 신호를 생성하기 위해 상기 I 및 Q 신호들에 응답하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 크기 양과 각도 양이 상호간에 관련하여 특정된 시간 정렬에서 생기도록 하기 위한 시간 정렬 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 크기 양의 신호 경로에서의 제1 밴드 제한 필터 및 상기 각도 양의 신호 경로에서의 제2 밴드 제한 필터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기의 출력 신호의 적어도 한개의 특성을 측정하기 위한 수단, 및 상기 측정 수단의 측정에 응답하여 적어도 한개의 캘리브레이션 팩터를 생성하기 위한 수단을 구비하는 캘리브레이션 루프를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 캘리브레이션 팩터는 상기 입력 신호의 적어도 한개 및 상기 제어가능 전력 공급원이 변경되도록 하기 위해 상기 변조기 드라이버에 인가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제12항에 있어서, 상기 변조기 드라이버와 상기 캘리브레이션 루프는 오픈-루프 방식으로 동작하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제11항에 있어서, 상기 3-포트 전력 증폭기의 출력 신호의 적어도 한개의 특성을 측정하기 위한 수단, 및 상기 측정 수단의 측정에 응답하여 적어도 한개의 캘리브레이션 팩터를 생성하기 위한 수단을 각각 구비하는 제1 및 제2 캘리브레이션 루프를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제14항에 있어서, 상기 한개 캘리브레이션 루프는 각도 캘리브레이션을 수행하고, 다른 한개 캘리브레이션 루프는 크기 캘리브레이션을 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 제15항에 있어서, 각도 캘리브레이션을 수행하는 상기 캘리브레이션 루프는 직접 디지털 위상 양자화기를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
- 무선주파수(RF) 전력 변조기에 있어서,하나 또는 그 이상의 단계들을 가지는 전력 증폭기; 및정보 신호를 수신하고 변조된 RF 출력 신호를 생성하기 위해 상기 전력 증폭기를 적절하게 구동하기 위한 변조기 드라이버를 포함하고,상기 변조된 RF 출력 신호는 상기 전력 증폭기의 한 스테이지의 출력에 첫번째로 존재하는 것을 특징으로 하는 RF 전력 변조기.
