Claims (10)
- 각각 배향막을 개재하여 서로 간격을 두고 유지된 1쌍의 기판을 구비하며, 상기 배향막간에 액정층이 삽입된 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 배향막은 상기 액정층의 액정 분자에 대한 초기 배향성을 갖고, 자외선 조사에 따른 프리틸트각의 변화율이 다른 적어도 2종류의 중합체를 포함하는 재료로 되고,상기 2종류의 중합체 중 한쪽 중합체에 의한 배향이 수평 배향이고, 다른 쪽 중합체에 의한 배향이 수직 배향인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 배향막은 상기 각 중합체의 혼합물을 포함하는 재료로 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 1쌍의 기판에 각각 배향막을 형성하고, 상기 각 배향막을 대향시키도록 상기 배향막간에 액정층을 삽입하며, 상기 각 기판 간격을 일정하게 유지하여 액정 표시 장치를 제조하는 방법으로서,상기 배향막을, 상기 액정층의 액정 분자에 대한 초기 배향성을 갖고, 자외선 조사에 따른 프리틸트각의 변화가 다른 적어도 2종류의 중합체를 포함하는 재료로 구성하여 상기 1쌍의 기판에 도포하는 단계와,상기 배향막의 표면에 대하여 경사진 방향에서 자외선을 조사하여, 상기 액정층의 액정 분자의 배향을 제어하는 단계를 포함하고,상기 2종류의 중합체 중 한쪽 중합체에 의한 배향이 수평 배향이고, 다른 쪽 중합체에 의한 배향이 수직 배향인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 배향막에 자외선을 조사하여, 상기 배향막상에 설치되는 액정을 배향시키는 배향 처리 장치로서,자외선의 산란광을 조사하는 광원과,상기 광원 밑에 설치되며, 슬릿이 형성된 광학 마스크를 구비하며,상기 광학 마스크를 상기 배향막의 위쪽에 배치하고, 상기 광원으로부터 상기 광학 마스크에 산란광을 조사함으로써, 상기 슬릿을 중심으로 하여 퍼지는 확산광을 생성하고, 당해 확산광을 상기 배향막에 조사하여, 상기 액정에 확산광의 확산 방향에 의존한 분할 배향을 생성시키고, 상기 광학 마스크는 상기 슬릿이 스트라이프 형상으로 형성되어 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 배향 처리 장치.

- 배향막에 자외선을 조사하여, 상기 배향막상에 설치되는 액정을 배향시키는 배향 처리 방법으로서,슬릿이 형성된 광학 마스크를 상기 배향막의 위쪽에 배치하고, 자외선의 산란광을 조사하는 광원으로부터 상기 광학 마스크에 산란광을 조사함으로써, 상기 슬릿을 중심으로 하여 퍼지는 확산광을 생성하는 단계와,당해 확산광을 상기 배향막에 조사하여, 상기 액정에 확산광의 확산 방향에 의존한 분할 배향을 생성시키는 단계를 포함하고,상기 분할 배향의 상기 각 기판에서의 방향은 게이트 전극 및/또는 데이터 전극의 관계에서, 상기 게이트 전극 및/또는 상기 데이터 전극으로부터 대향하는 상기 기판의 상기 화소 중앙을 연결하는 선분 방향인 것을 특징으로 하는 배향 처리 방법.
- 배향막에 자외선을 조사하여, 상기 배향막상에 설치되는 액정을 배향시키는 배향 처리 장치로서,자외선을 조사하는 광원과,상기 광원 밑에 설치되고, 자외선이 투과할 때 확산되도록 슬릿이 형성되어 있는 광학 마스크를 구비하며,상기 광학 마스크를 상기 배향막의 위쪽에 배치하고, 상기 광원으로부터 상기 광학 마스크에 자외선을 조사함으로써, 상기 슬릿을 중심으로 하여 퍼지는 확산광을 생성하고, 당해 확산광을 상기 배향막에 조사하여, 상기 액정에 확산광의 확산 방향에 의존한 분할 배향을 생성시키고,상기 광학 마스크는 상기 슬릿이 스트라이프 형상으로 형성되어 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 배향 처리 장치.
- 각각 배향막을 개재하여 서로 간격을 두고 유지된 1쌍의 기판을 구비하며, 상기 배향막간에 액정층이 삽입되어서 되는 액정 표시 장치로서,자외선의 산란광을 조사하는 광원과,상기 광원 아래에 설치되며, 슬릿이 형성된 광학 마스크를 구비하고,한쪽의 상기 기판에 화소 전극 및 데이터 전극이 형성되어 있고,상기 슬릿이 상기 광학 마스크 위에서 상기 데이터 전극의 중심부에 위치하도록 형성되어 있고,상기 광원에 의한 자외선의 조사에 의해, 상기 화소 전극의 단부에 상당하는 부위의 액정 분자를 상기 슬릿이 존재하는 방향으로 경사지도록 배향 규제력을 상기 배향막에 부여하여, 상기 액정 분자가 상기 화소 전극의 단부의 전계에 의해 배향하도록 하는 힘을 상기 배향 규제력에 의해 상쇄하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 각각 배향막을 개재하여 서로 간격을 두고 유지된 1쌍의 기판을 구비하며, 상기 배향막간에 액정층이 삽입된 액정 표시 장치를 제조하는 방법에 있어서,한쪽 상기 기판에 형성된 화소 전극의 단부에 상당하는 부위의 액정 분자에, 당해 단부에서 발생하는 전계에 의한 배향을 상쇄하는 방향으로 향하는 배향 규제력을 부여하고,슬릿이 형성된 광학 마스크를, 상기 슬릿이 게이트 전극상 또는 데이터 전극상에서 이와 평행이 되도록, 상기 배향막의 상부에 배치하고, 상기 광학 마스크에 상부로부터 자외선을 조사함으로써, 상기 배향막에 조사하여, 상기 화소 전극의 상기 단부에서 발생하는 전계에 의한 배향을 상쇄하는 방향으로 향하는 배향 규제력을 부여하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치의 제조 방법.
- 각각 배향막을 개재하여 서로 간격을 두고 유지된 1쌍의 기판을 구비하며, 상기 배향막간에 액정층이 삽입되어서 되는 액정 표시 장치로서,한쪽 상기 기판은 화소 전극과, 당해 화소 전극 사이에 형성된 버스 라인을 갖고,상기 화소 전극의 상기 버스 라인 근방에 당해 버스 라인과 평행한 슬릿이 형성되어 있고,상기 화소 전극의 상기 슬릿에 의해서, 상기 화소 전극의 단부에 상당하는 부위의 액정 분자에, 당해 단부에서 발생하는 전계에 의한 배향을 상쇄하는 방향으로 향하는 배향 규제력이 부여되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
