Abstract
Description
(銅系触媒成分)
本発明に用いられる銅系触媒成分(塩素製造用触媒)は、銅元素とアルカリ金属元素と希土類元素とを好ましくはシリカに担持した触媒である。以下、各成分について説明する。
〔希土類元素〕
本発明における銅系触媒成分に用いられる希土類元素は、好ましくはランタノイドであり、ランタン系列の元素を示し、周期表(IUPAC Periodic Table of the Elements(version date 8 Jan 2016)におけるランタン(原子番号:57)からルテチウム(原子番号:71)までの15の元素の総称である。
本発明の塩素製造用触媒(銅系触媒成分)に含まれる銅元素は、原子価が1価、2価いずれの状態で含まれていてもよい。その中でも2価の銅の含有率が高いことが好ましい。
本発明の塩素製造用触媒(銅系触媒成分)に含まれるアルカリ金属元素としては、リチウム、ナトリウム、カリウム、ルビジウム、セシウム、フランシウムが挙げられる。これらのアルカリ金属は単独で使用しても、2種以上で使用してもよい。このうち、ナトリウム、カリウムが好ましく、カリウムが、高活性の触媒を得られるためより好ましい。なお、カリウムを用いると、高活性の触媒が得られる理由は、酸素とランタノイドとの親和性をより良好にさせることができるためと推定される。
本発明で用いられる塩素製造用触媒(銅系触媒成分)は、酸素存在下で、塩化水素を酸化して塩素を製造する際に用いる触媒であり、銅元素、アルカリ金属元素、および希土類金属元素(希土類元素)を含有する。
〔塩素製造用触媒の製造方法〕
本発明の塩素製造用触媒を製造するための方法としては特に限定されないが、例えば次のような方法で製造することができる。
本発明の塩素製造用触媒を用いた塩素の製造法について説明する。
平均細孔直径12.3nm、比表面積556m2/g、全細孔容積1.7ml/gのシリカ粒体(富士シリシア社製、粒径2〜4mmΦ、キャリアクトQ15)を空気中、500℃で2h焼成した(シリカ担体1とする)。ガラス製フラスコに水30gと塩化第二銅(和光純薬社製、特級)1.29g、塩化サマリウム・七水和物(和光純薬社製、特級)1.41g、塩化カリウム(和光純薬社製、特級)0.67gを加えて水溶液とし、これにシリカ担体1を10.1g加え、ロータリーエバポレーターを用いて、80℃で蒸発乾固した。これを、空気中、330℃で3h焼成し、Cu:K:Sm:SiO2=5:3:5:87の質量比率の担持触媒(触媒1とする)を得た。
[実施例2]
ランタノイドをサマリウムからプラセオジムに変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で同様の質量比率の担持触媒(触媒2とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
[実施例3]
ランタノイドをサマリウムからユーロピウムに変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で同様の質量比率の担持触媒(触媒3とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
[実施例4]
ランタノイドをサマリウムからネオジムに変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で同様の重量比率の担持触媒(触媒4とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
[実施例5]
Cu:K:Sm:SiO2=5:3:5:87の質量比率を、7:4.2:7:81.8に変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で担持触媒(触媒5とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
[実施例6]
アルカリ金属元素をカリウムからナトリウムに変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で同様の質量比率の担持触媒(触媒6とする)を調製し、酸素の供給速度を180ml/min(酸素濃度は66.7容量%)に変更した以外は、上記と同様にして評価を行なった。
[実施例7〜9および比較例1〜3]
触媒活性評価における条件を表1に示す条件に変更した以外は、実施例1と同様にして塩化水素ガスの酸化反応を行なった。
[実施例10]
Cu:K:Sm:SiO2=5:3:5:87の質量比率を、5:3:10:82に変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で担持触媒(触媒7とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
[実施例11]
シリカ粒体の粒径を、2〜4mmΦから1.2〜2.4mmΦに変更した以外は実施例1と同様の方法で担持触媒(触媒8とする)を調製し、同様の評価を行った。
Claims (7)
- 固定床反応器中で触媒の存在下、塩化水素を酸素により酸化して塩素を製造する方法において、
[I]塩化水素と酸素とを含む原料を触媒と接触させる温度が280〜370℃の範囲であり、
[II]塩化水素と酸素とを含む原料中の酸素濃度が45〜75容量%であることを特徴とする、塩素の製造方法。 - 前記塩化水素が、前記触媒1Lに対して、65〜1500L/hの速度で供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の塩素の製造方法。
- 前記触媒は、銅元素、アルカリ金属元素および希土類金属元素を含有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の塩素の製造方法。
- 前記触媒の銅元素含有量が、前記触媒全体の質量を100質量%としたときに、1.0質量%以上、12.0質量%以下、銅元素とアルカリ金属元素との質量比が1:0.2〜1:2.0の範囲であり、かつ、銅元素と希土類金属元素との質量比が1:0.2〜1:3.0の範囲であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の塩素の製造方法。
- 前記触媒に含まれる希土類金属元素が、プラセオジム、ネオジム、サマリウムおよびユウロピウムよりなる群から選ばれる1種以上であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の塩素の製造方法。
- 前記触媒に含まれるアルカリ金属元素が、ナトリウムおよび/またはカリウムを含むことを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の塩素の製造方法。
- 銅元素、アルカリ金属元素および希土類金属元素を含有する触媒が、塩素、及び塩化水素に不活性な無機多孔質担体に、前記触媒に含有する元素のそれぞれ、あるいは複合の金属塩水溶液を含浸した後、該金属塩水溶液を含浸した担体を80〜200℃で、2〜24h乾燥してフリー水分を除去した後、更に還元性ガスを含まない酸素濃度が15〜95容量%の雰囲気中、300〜390℃で該金属塩を含浸した担体を5〜20h処理して得られる触媒であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の塩素の製造方法。
