Claims (5)
- 電解質膜(26)の両側に一対のガス拡散層(28a、30a)が配設される電解質膜・電極構造体(12)を備え、前記電解質膜・電極構造体(12)とセパレータ(14、16)とが積層される燃料電池(10)であって、
前記電解質膜・電極構造体(12)は、前記電解質膜(26)の端部が前記ガス拡散層(28a、30a)の端部から外方に突出するとともに、
前記電解質膜(26)の前記端部両面は、第1保護フイルム(32)及び第2保護フイルム(33)に挟持され、且つ、前記第1保護フイルム(32)の厚さは、前記第2保護フイルム(33)の厚さよりも肉薄に設定されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記第1保護フイルム(32)の外周は、前記電解質膜(26)の外周よりも内方に配置され、前記電解質膜(26)の一方の外周端縁面が露呈することを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項2記載の燃料電池において、前記第1保護フイルム(32)の外方に露呈する前記電解質膜(26)の一方の外周端縁面と一方のセパレータ(16)との間に配設される内側シール部材(52a)と、
前記電解質膜・電極構造体(12)の外方を周回し、一対のセパレータ(14、16)間に配設される外側シール部材(52b)と、
を備えることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記第1保護フイルム(32)は、前記セパレータ(16)に設けられるバッファ部(42b)に対向して配設されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記一対のガス拡散層(28a、30a)の端面位置は、前記電解質膜(26)を挟んで積層方向に互いにずれていることを特徴とする燃料電池。
