Claims (4)
- 電解質を一対の電極で挟んだ電解質・電極構造体を有し、前記電解質・電極構造体を一対の金属セパレータで挟持して積層するとともに、積層方向に貫通して反応ガス連通孔及び冷却媒体連通孔が形成され、さらに前記一対の金属セパレータと前記電解質・電極構造体との間には、前記電極に沿って反応ガスを供給する反応ガス流路が形成される一方、前記一対の金属セパレータ間には、冷却媒体を供給する冷却媒体流路が形成される燃料電池であって、
前記金属セパレータは、前記冷却媒体流路が形成される冷却面側に前記冷却媒体連通孔と前記冷却媒体流路とを連結するバッファ部を設けるとともに、
少なくとも前記冷却面側には、前記電極の電極反応面に対面する部分及び前記バッファ部を除く前記金属セパレータの冷却面全面にシール部材が一体化される一方、
前記反応ガス流路は、サーペンタイン流路を構成しており、
前記サーペンタイン流路を構成し且つ前記電極反応面の端部位置に対応する外側溝部と、前記シール部材の冷却媒体連通孔の外周部分から前記外側溝部に向かって膨出する膨出部とは、前記金属セパレータを挟んで端部同士が互いに同一位置に配置されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記金属セパレータの両端部に前記冷却媒体連通孔が配置されるとともに、
互いに隣接して前記冷却媒体流路を形成する一対の前記金属セパレータは、一方の前記金属セパレータに、前記冷却媒体連通孔に近接して第1のバッファ部が形成され、且つ他方の前記金属セパレータに、前記冷却媒体連通孔に近接して第2のバッファ部が形成されることにより、前記一対の金属セパレータを互いに積層した際に、前記冷却媒体連通孔を挟んで両側に前記第1と第2のバッファ部が対設されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記第1と第2のバッファ部は、三角形状に形成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、前記反応ガス連通孔は、燃料ガス供給連通孔、酸化剤ガス供給連通孔、燃料ガス排出連通孔及び酸化剤ガス排出連通孔を備えるとともに、前記冷却媒体連通孔は、冷却媒体供給連通孔及び冷却媒体排出連通孔を備え、
前記金属セパレータの積層方向と直交する一方の端部に、前記酸化剤ガス供給連通孔、前記冷却媒体供給連通孔、前記燃料ガス排出連通孔が設けられ、他方の端部に前記燃料ガス供給連通孔、前記冷却媒体排出連通孔及び前記酸化剤ガス排出連通孔が分配して設けられることを特徴とする燃料電池。
