Claims (5)
- 電解質膜の両側に電極を配設した電解質膜・電極構造体を、一対の金属セパレータにより挟持する発電セルを備え、複数の前記発電セルを積層するとともに、各発電セルの積層方向に貫通して反応ガス連通孔及び冷却媒体連通孔が形成され、さらに隣接する前記発電セルを構成する各金属セパレータ間には、冷却媒体を供給するための冷却媒体流路が形成される燃料電池であって、
少なくとも一方の金属セパレータは、波形状に成形される板状金属プレートにシール部材が一体成形されるとともに、
前記少なくとも一方の金属セパレータの平坦部には、前記電解質膜・電極構造体側とは反対側の面に前記シール部材により凸状部材が一体成形され、前記凸状部材は、前記冷却媒体流路と前記冷却媒体連通孔とを接続する連結流路を構成することを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1記載の燃料電池において、前記凸状部材は、対向する金属セパレータに一体成形される平坦状シール部材との間に前記連結流路を形成することを特徴とする燃料電池。
- 請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池において、前記少なくとも一方の金属セパレータは、前記凸状部材の裏面側に前記電解質膜・電極構造体をシールするためのシール部材が一体成形されるとともに、
前記凸状部材の前記連結流路を構成する部位は、前記シール部材の少なくとも一部と積層方向に重なるように構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、前記発電セルは、水平方向に積層されるとともに、
前記反応ガス連通孔は、燃料ガス入口連通孔、酸化剤ガス入口連通孔、燃料ガス出口連通孔及び酸化剤ガス出口連通孔を備える一方、
前記冷却媒体連通孔は、冷却媒体入口連通孔及び冷却媒体出口連通孔を備えており、
前記6つの連通孔は、前記発電セルの左右両端に3つずつ振り分けて形成され且つ前記左右両端の中間には、前記冷却媒体入口連通孔及び前記冷却媒体出口連通孔が設けられることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の燃料電池において、前記連結流路は、前記冷却媒体連通孔と前記冷却媒体流路との間で少なくとも2方向に分岐する複数の分岐流路を備えることを特徴とする燃料電池。
