Claims (5)
- 内部に、蛍光体層が形成されると共に放電ガスが封入され、長手方向に複数の発光点をそれぞれ有する複数のガス放電管が並置され、前記複数のガス放電管の表示面側に複数対の表示電極が配置され、前記複数のガス放電管の背面側に複数の信号電極が配置された複数のユニットからなる表示装置であって、
第1の期間において前記複数のユニットの前記複数対の表示電極の各表示電極対のうちの一方の表示電極に走査電圧を印加し、第2の期間において前記一方の表示電極に維持電圧パルスを印加する少なくとも1つの走査駆動回路と、
前記第2の期間において前記複数のユニットの前記複数対の表示電極の各表示電極対のうちの他方の表示電極に維持電圧パルス用の電位を印加する少なくとも2つの維持電圧回路と、
を具え、
前記1つの走査駆動回路は、前記複数のユニットの中の隣接する2つのユニットの前記複数対の表示電極の各表示電極対のうちの一方の表示電極に走査電圧を印加し、前記一方の表示電極に維持電圧パルスを印加し、
前記少なくとも2つの維持電圧回路の中の少なくとも1つの維持電圧回路は、前記複数のユニットの中の最も外側の少なくとも1つのユニットの前記複数対の表示電極の各表示電極対のうちの他方の表示電極に維持電圧パルス用の電位を印加するものであることを特徴とする、表示装置。 - 前記少なくとも2つの維持電圧回路および前記少なくとも1つの走査駆動回路は、前記複数のユニットの2つの外側辺および隣接境界線の付近に前記2つの外側辺の間で交互に配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記複数のユニットの数が偶数であり、前記1つの走査駆動回路の数が前記少なくとも2つの維持電圧回路の数より少ないことを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記複数のユニットの各ユニットの前記複数対の表示電極の中の各1対の表示電極の長手方向の或る位置における各1対の表示電極のうちの一方の表示電極の維持電圧と他方の表示電極の維持電圧の和の値が、各1対の表示電極の長手方向の別の位置における各1対の表示電極のうちの一方の表示電極の維持電圧と他方の表示電極の維持電圧の和の値と実質的に等しいことを特徴とする、請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の表示装置。
- 前記少なくとも2つの維持電圧回路は、導体を介して互いに電気的に結合されていることを特徴とする、請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の表示装置。
