Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は自動二輪車のレッグシールド装置に関する。
自動二軸車のレッグシールドは走行風の巻込み。
膝や゛脚部の雨よけ或は防寒等の目的で設けられており
、出来る限り幅広であることが好ましい。一方、自動二
軸車の特性を生かすためにはレッグシールドの幅を出来
る限り狭くして狭い所でも通行可能とする二とが必要で
あり、両者は相反するものである。そこで、通常レッグ
シールドの幅は前記風よけ等の実用性と、狭い所を通行
し得る二と及び車輌をコンパクトにする二と等の条件を
考慮して設定されており、いずれの条件をも充分に満足
することは困難である。
本発明は上述の点に鑑みてなされたもので、運転者の要
求に合わせてレッグシールドの幅を調整可能とし、最適
な幅に適宜設定し得ることを目的とする。この目的を達
成するために本発明においては、レッグシールドを有す
る自動二輪車において、前記レッグシールドの外側方部
を起伏自在に形成し、前記レッグシールドを適宜の幅に
設定可能とした自動二軸車のレッグシールド装置を提供
するものである。
以下本発明の一実施例を添附図面に基づいて詳述する。
第１図及び第２図において、自動二輪車１にはハンドル
２からフレームパイプカバー３に沿゛つて下方のフロン
トフェンダ４に至るまでの間、及びこのフロントフェン
ダ４から斜後方にステップフロア５に至るまでの間に運
転者の膝及び脚の前部を覆うように合成樹脂部材で形成
されたレッグシールド６．７が取付けられており、これ
らの各レッグシールド６及び７の外側部６ａｗ６ａ及び
７ａ。
７ａには夫々側板８．８及び９．９が取付けられている
。
レッグシールド６の内側には第３図に示すように外縁部
６ａの所定位置にヒンジ部６ｂ、６ｂが、略中央部所定
位置には係止部６ｃが夫々当該レッグシールド６と一体
に突設して形成されている。
このレッグシールド６の他の外縁部６ａ及びレッグシー
ルド７も上述と同様に形成されている。
側板８は例えばプラスチック等の合成樹脂部材で形成さ
れ、−側縁部８ａは断面略Ｕ字状に折曲形成されたホル
ダ１０の溝１０ａ内に嵌合され接着剤で固着されており
、外周部には保護用の縁ゴム１１が固着されている。二
のホルダ１０には前記レッグシールド６の各ヒンジ部６
ｂ、６ｂと嵌合するヒンジ部ｆｏｂ、１０ｂが一体に形
成され１０ｂを介して止ねじ１３，１３及びナツト１４
゜１４によりレッグシールド６に対して回動自在に軸支
されている。他の側板８，９．９も同様にしてレッグシ
ールド６．７に回動自在に軸支されている。
かかる構成において、第４図に示すように側板８をレッ
グシールド６に対して外方拡開した（起した）状態にお
いては、レッグシールド６の幅は広くなり、鎖線８′で
示すように回動角（起伏角）を適当に変えることにょリ
レラグシールドの幅を可変することができる。また、鎖
線８”で示すようにレッグシールド６の裏側に側板８を
折りたたんだ状態においては、縁ゴム１１が係止部６ｃ
により係止され、側板８が当該位置に係止される。
そして、郊外の広い場所を走行するときには各側板８〜
９を適宜位置に設定し或は折りたたむ。
しかして、走行時に側板が邪魔となることはない。
第５図は本発明の他の実施例を示すもので、レッグ　−
ルド６′にヒンジ部が設けられていない場合の側板の取
付を示す。図において、側板８′の一側縁部が嵌合固着
されたホルダ１０’のヒンジ部１０’ｂ、１０’ｂｉ、
：は断面略Ｕ状ノホルダ１５゜１５がヒンジ部１５ａ、
１５ａを介して回動自在に軸支されており、これらのホ
ルダ１５．１５は第６図に示すように溝１５ｂを介して
ホルダ６′の外縁部６’ａに嵌合され、ネジ１６により
締付固定されている。このようにしてレッグシールド６
′に側板８′が起伏自在に取付けられており、その機能
は前記側板８の場合と全く同様である。
尚、側板８〜９に透明又は半透明の板を使用すると運転
がし易くなるが必ずしも透明又は半透明にする必要はな
い。
以上説明したように本発明によれば、レッグシールドを
有する自動二輪車において、前記レッグシールドの外側
方部を起伏自在に形成したことにより、運転者の要求に
合わせてレッグシールドの幅を適宜の幅に簡単に設定す
ることができると共に、不必要の場合にはレッグシール
ドの裏側に折りたたむことにより車体幅を狭くすること
ができ、自動二輪車の特性を生かしつつレッグシールド
の機能を大幅に向上させる二とができる。

    ンジ機構を介して外方及び内方に起伏自在に側板を設け
    たものである特許請求の範囲第１項記載の自動二軸車の
    レッグシールド装置。
