Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the reduction powdering properties at low temp. by separating a group of starting materials with high SiO2 content as secondary starting materials from principal starting materials, kneading the secondary materials with the principal materials, and sintering them when fine ore, powdered limestone, coke breeze, etc. are kneaded and sinterd.
CONSTITUTION: When fine ore, powdered limestone, coke breeze, etc. are blended, kneaded, and sintered to manufacture sintered ore, a group of starting materials with relatively high SiO2 content such as silica, nickel slag, serpentine and iron sand are separated as secondary starting materials from principal starting materials. At least part of the secondary materials is finely pulverized, and CaCl2 is added to the part. The secondary materials are then added to the mixture of the principal materials, and they are kneaded and sintered.
