Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title pellets which hold good gas permeability as raw material for iron in a blast furnace, lowers coke ratio, and enhances hot iron productivity coefficient by adding above a specific amt. of coarse ore to fine ore regulated to a specific grain size and a specific basicity.
CONSTITUTION: 30W70 wt% of coarse ore of 80W16 mesh is added to fine ore contg. above 70 wt% of particles of above 325 mesh and regulated to a basicity (CaO/SiO2) above 1.0, and they are mixed, pelletized, and fired in air to form fired pellets. The coarse material includes coarse powder of iron ixide-contg. dust formed from various refined ores and minus mesh powder of sintered ore or fired pellets themselves basides usual raw material for ore.
