Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain effective sintered ore which forms comparatively less slag, by blending SiO2 more than CaO in fine powder portion, which is smaller than 1 mm in particle size, of compound raw material for sintering, and by decreasing compounding quantity of silica or lime stone in order to control the compounding ratio of SiO2 in the sintered ore.
CONSTITUTION: Basicity (CaO/SiO2) of fine powder portion smaller than 1 mm in size of compound raw material for sintering, which contains the fine powder portion not less than 25%, is adjusted to less than 1.0. At the same time, quantity of silica or lime stone contained in compound raw material is decreased so as to regulate SiO2 contained in the sintered ore to 5.4% or lower. The sintered ore thus produced causes to decrease slag fed into a blast furnace and decrease sufficiently the fuel consumption of the blast furnace without damaging anti-griding strength during low temp. reduction.
