Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish an invariable, high stabilization of the strength of a sintered mineral to powderization in low temperature reduction without deterioration in production efficiency and basic unit of coke by controlling the basicity of minute particle part specifically blended to less than a specified value in sintering thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A blending material is so prepared that the ratio of the component with a particle of less than 1 mm exceeds 25%, provided that the amount of SiO2 in the fine powder component is larger than that of CaO to reduce the ratio CaO/ SiO2 (less than 1 mm in particle) to less than 1.0. The material thus obtained is sintered. Here, in total, the ratio CaO/SiO2, which means basicity, is approximately 1.3. In this manner, the strength of the sintered material against powderization in low temperature reduction can be highly stabilized without increase in the amount of slag. In addition, production efficiency, basic unit of coke, strength against propping and the like can be maintained satisfactory.
