Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover high-quality melt iron powder, converter dust is classified to remove fine particulates, finely crushed to remove scale and slag components and the resultant powder is classified.
CONSTITUTION: Converter dust is classified to remove -44 grade fine particulates, providing dust mainly consisting of medium-sizes granules. The resultant granules are then pulverized to remove scale and slag components, by ball mill or the like followed by treatment with magnetic separator to obtain metallic powders. Thus, the process contributes to effective utilization of high-quality metallic iron powders such as T-Fe, M-Fe, etc.
