Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the high-sensitivity detection of magnetic field intensity under an cryogenic temperature and reduction in cost, by detecting normal conduction transfer by providing a superconductor with a heater and search coil.
CONSTITUTION: At the center part of superconductor 1 coated with copper 2, search coil 4 and heater 5 are wound and then sealed and fixed by adibatic agent 8 together with lead wires 3, 6 and 7 to constitute measuring element 9, which is placed in low temperature container 10. In this constitution, a current through heater 5 is increased through lead wire 6 by flowing a constant current to superconductor 1 through lead wire 3 so as to decrease the critical magnetic field of superconductor 1, so that normal conduction transfer of superconductor 1 being applied with a slight magnetic field will be detected through lead wire 7. Therefore, the relation between the current value of heater 5 and the magnetic field is measured and recorded so as to make it possible to detect unknown magnetic-field intensity from the current value of heater 5.
