Abstract

The device described is used to measure a magnetic field with a magnetometer of the bar type. It comprises a magnetometer housing (4) in the shape of a bar, several magnetometers (2, 3) aligned at predetermined intervals inside the housing (4), a device for exciting an element the magnetometer sensitive to the magnetic field, and a circuit which treats electrically a magnetic signal applied to the sensitive element. Information is obtained on the properties of the substance surrounding the magnetometer in the form of a change in the vector component of a magnetic field in the direction of the detection axis of the element sensitive to magnetic fields.
