Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the cost reduction of a measuring element and high-sensitivity detection of magnetic field intensity under an cryogenic temperature, by detecting normal conduction transfer by providing a superconductor with a heater connected in series to it.
CONSTITUTION: The center part of superconductor 1, where copper coating is peeled off, is wound with heater 4 connected in series to superconductor 1 and they are sealed and fixed by adibatic agent 8 together with lead wires to constitute measuring element 8, which is installed in low-temperature container 9. In this constitution, a variable voltage power supply is connected to lead wire 5, and a voltmeter is to lead wire 6 to reduce the critical magnetic field of superconductor 1 by increasing a current through heater 4, so that the normal conduction transfer of superconductor 1 being applied with a slight magnetic field will be detected through lead wire 6. Therefore, unknown magnetic field intension can be detected from the current value of heater 6 by previously knowing the relation between the current value of heater 4 and the magnetic field.
