Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize reduction in cost and high-sensitivity detection of magnetic- field intensity under an cryogenic temperature by detecting normal conduction transfer by providing a superconductor with heating and cooling mechnisms.
CONSTITUTION: The center part of superconductor 1 coated with copper 2 is wound with heater 6 through insulator 4 and cooling copper plate 5 after copper is peeled off, and those are sealed by adibatic agent 8 together with lead wires to constitute measuring element 10, which is installed in low-temperature container 11. In this constitution, a current through heater 6 is increased through lead wire 7 by flowing a constant current to superconductor 1 through lead wire 3 to decrease the critical magnetic field of superconductor 1, so that superconductor 1 will cause normal conduction transfer by being applied with a slight magnetic field and vary in voltage through lead wire 8. Therefore, the relation between the current value of heater 6 and the magnetic field at this time is precviously known, so that unknown magnetic field intensity can perfectly be detected from the current value of heater 6.
