Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a temperature detector with a heat sensitive zone having a smaller heat capacity and enable it to respond at high speed by employing as its heat sensitive substance an amorphous magnetic substance alloy which is a thin strip having a thickness of less than several tens of mum in its product configuration. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic circuit is composed of an amorphous ferromagnetic alloy thin strip 1 having magnetostriction and whose linear expansibility is not zero and a magnetic substance 2. The temperature of the magnetic substance 2 is maintained constant by a constant temperature maintaining apparatus 3, and a winding 4 is wound on the magnetic circuit comprising the amorphous ferromagnetic alloy thin strip 1 and the magnetic substance 2 and used to measure inductance by an inductance measuring apparatus 5. In such constitution, when the amorphous ferromagnetic alloy thin strip 1 is supplied with a thermal energy from a system being measured, the magnetic permeability of the amorphous ferromagnetic alloy thin strip 1 varies. Measuring the inductance in this case by the measuring apparatus 5 permits the temperature of the system being measured to be detected.
