Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain the reduction in size, facility in handling and long life time, all of which are intrinsic advantages of an electrostatic transfer system, and to make it possible to produce copies of excellent quality at a low price by using an organic semiconductor, which has been sensitized to color, as a photosensitive material.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive element, which is prepared by laminating a surfacer metal 2 having conductivity and an organic photoconductive layer 3 of color element dispersion type upon a substrate 1, has its surface charged uniformly with the use of a corona discharger 4 and a power source 6 and is exposed to an image through a lens 5. As a result, the color element molecules are excited to generate optical carriers. These carriers move through the layer 3 to reach the surface, while neutralizing the charges, to form an electrostatic latent image. Then, a recording member 7 is brought into close contact with the surface of the photosensitive element so that the latent image is transferred to the member 7. Then, this member 7 is separated from the surface of the photosensitive element, and the latent image is visualized by the prior art method.
