Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize positive-positive printing and negative-positive printing in one machine simultaneously, by uniformly charging the photosensitive plate, applying first image forming radiation, and applying second image forming radiation and AC destaticizing, then exposing the entire surface.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive plate A having photoconductive layer 2 and insulating layer 3 on a conductive supporting body 1 is, for example, negatively charged by a corona discharger 4 in dark place, and first optical image is radiated, then a positive charge 32 remains in the boundary of the layer 3 in the bright part and is unchanged in the dark part. Then, when second optical image radiation and AC destaticizing by a corona discharger 8 are applied simultaneously, negative charges 31 in parts I and II are discharged. Next, when the layer 3 is fuly exposed, the parts I, II, IV drop nearly to zero potential, while in part III, the positive charge 33 is extinguished, leaving the charge equivalent to the charged negative charge 31. Thus, positive-positive printing and negative-positive printing may be realized simultaneously in one machine.
