Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily carry out dichromatic printing using a positive original, by subjecting the surface of an electrostatic latent image forming material consisting of a conductive substrate, an overlaid photoconductor layer, and a further overlaid charge transfer layer, to a primary charging and exposure followed by a secondary charging and exposure. CONSTITUTION:Photoconductor layer 13 is formed on conductive substrate 12, and further, charge transfer layer 14 for transferring only positive or negative charge is formed on layer 13 to complete an electrostatic latent image forming material. The surface of this material is positively or negatively charged uniformly and exposed to a primary optical image, then the area of the layer 14 surface exposed in the primary exposure step is charged positively or negatively, the unexposed area reversely, and after the secondary charging, layer 14 is exposed to a secondary optical image to form 3 kinds of positive, zero, and negative potential levels in the latent images on the electrostatic latent image forming material.
