Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect the dichroic record by laminating upon a conductive substrate a first photoconductive layer, which is sensitive to an A color but insensitive to a B color, and a second photoconductive layer which has opposite photosensitive characteristics and by effecting an image exposure after the changing operation by a preset method.
CONSTITUTION: There are laminated upon a conductive substrate 10 a first photoconductive layer 11, which is sensitive to an A color but insensitive to a B color, and a second photoconductive layer 12 which is sensitive to the B color but insensitive to the A color, thereby to prepare a photosensitive element 1. This element 1 is uniformly charged at its surface with a negative polarity with the use of a charger 2 while being irradiated with the A color (whereupon positive charges are induced in the interface between the layers 11 and 12). Then, a charger 3 is used to effect the uniform charge of positive polarity so that the surface potential of the photosensitive element is reduced substantially to zero. After that, the optical image of a dichroic original is irradiated so that the surface potential of the element 1 is made negative at the portion having been exposed to the A color and positive at the portion having been exposed to the B color. The resultant image is developed with the use of the positively charged A color toner TA and the negatively charged B color toner TB.
