Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a good positive picture from negative and positive originals, by providing a means which switches uniform exposure of the photoreceptor surface before and after transfer. CONSTITUTION:Reversal copying to obtain a positive picture from the negative picture is explained below in the figure. The photoreceptor including insulating layer 3 is charged negatively by charger 4 and has positive charge discharged by charger 8. The potential approximately equal to that of the nonexposed part of the photoreceptor is applied to developing cylinder 14 to develop the photoreceptor. After transfering onto the transfer paper due to corotron 18, the photoreceptor is exposed to light uniformly by rear exposing lamp 21. In case that a positive picture is obtained from the positive original, switch 12 is turned off in respect to chargers. At the developing time, developing cylinder 14 is grounded or the bias voltage approximately equal to that of the exposed part of the photoreceptor is applied to stick toner 15 to the nonexposed part. Next, the photoreceptor is exposed to light uniformly by front exposing lamp 28 and is transferred to the transfer paper by corotron 18. Switch 23 for rear exposure is turned off.
