Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the remaining charge of image on the copid image of copying paper by eliminating the difference in the surface potentials between the photofatigued part and unphotofatigued part of the surface of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:Light irradiation from a light source 3 after developing is performed through the mirrors 13 and 14 alone and not through any lenses and therefore, it is accomplished at the same illuminance as that of the exposure of the time of forming electrostatic latent images or the illuminance higher than this, resulting in increased effect of uniformalization of photofatigue. The photofatigued part of the surface of a photosensitive drum 1 is recovered by the rotation of the drum 1 until it is charged by a charger 2, and the surface potential of the drum 1 owing to charging of the charger 2 does not cause degradation. Hence, the occurrence of character thinning-down or a whitening phenomenon of a black area is obviated on the copied image of copying paper P.
