Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 廃棄物処分場等の施工現場で加硫ゴム
シート同士を接合する際に接着力の強い接合部が得ら
れ、検査用チャンネルの形成が容易であり、かつ接合用
テープの融着による接合作業を1回で済ませる。 【解決手段】 2枚の加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bの縁
部間にオレフィン系樹脂からなる接合用テープ2を挟
み、上側加硫ゴムシート1Aと接合用テープ2との間お
よび接合用テープ2と下側加硫ゴムシート1Bとの間に
それぞれ、上側加硫ゴムシートと接合用テープの対向面
および接合用テープと下側加硫ゴムシートの対向面を加
熱するためのヒータ22を挿入し、この上下のヒータ2
2を加硫ゴムシートの縁部に沿って一方向に走行させな
がら上記の対向面を加熱し、ヒータの走行方向に対して
後方で上側加硫ゴムシート1A、接合用テープ2および
下側加硫ゴムシート1Bの三者を挟圧する。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、廃棄物処分場、
貯水池、雨水の貯留場、河川の堤防等の土木分野におけ
る遮水および建築物の陸屋根等の防水に使用される加硫
ゴムシートの接合方法に関するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】廃棄物処分場等の遮水または防水を目的
として敷設される加硫ゴムシートは、工場生産の際に幅
と長さが所定の大きさに制限されるため、敷設に際して
は現場の広さや形状に応じて上記の加硫ゴムシートを裁
断し、次いで隣接する2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を上
下に重ねて接合している。そして、接合方法としては、
上下に重ねられる縁部の少なくとも一方に溶剤系の接着
剤を所定幅の1本または2本の線状に塗布し、この塗布
面に他方の縁部を重ね、接着剤が半乾燥のときに重なり
部をローラで加圧する方法が採用されている。
【0003】しかしながら、この方法は、ボリ塩化ビニ
ルやポリエチレンを熱融着する場合に比べて接着力が低
くて使用中に剥離し易く、また接着剤を2本の平行線状
に塗布して重なり部に検査用チャンネルを形成し、その
一端から加圧空気を供給して空気洩れの有無を検査する
際に空気圧を強くすることができず、検査結果の信頼性
が低くなる等の問題があった。
【0004】このような問題を解決するため、一方の加
硫ゴムシートの縁部上にあらかじめオレフィン系樹脂か
らなる接合用テープを熱融着で固着し、次いでこの接合
用テープ上に他方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を重ねなが
ら、その重なる直前の対向面を加熱し、しかるのち上下
2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を挟んでこの両者を上記接
合用テープの融着で接合することが試みられているが、
この方法は融着作業を2回行う必要があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】この発明は、廃棄物処
分場等の施工現場で加硫ゴムシート同士を接合する際に
接着力の強い接合部が得られ、検査用チャンネルの形成
が容易であり、かつ接合用テープの融着による接合作業
が1回で済むようにしたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明に係る加硫ゴム
シートの接合方法は、2枚の加硫ゴムシートを両者の縁
部が上下に重なるように並べて接合する方法において、
上記2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部間にオレフィン系樹脂
からなる接合用テープを挟み、上側加硫ゴムシートと接
合用テープとの間に両者の対向面を加熱するための上側
ヒータを、また接合用テープと下側加硫ゴムシートとの
間に両者の対向面を加熱するための下側ヒータをそれぞ
れ挿入し、この上下のヒータを加硫ゴムシートの縁部に
沿って一方向に走行させながら上記の対向面を加熱し、
上記ヒータの走行方向に対して後方で上側加硫ゴムシー
ト、接合用テープおよび下側加硫ゴムシートの三者を挟
圧して上記二枚の加硫ゴムシートを接合用テープの融着
で接合することを特徴とする。
【0007】この発明では、接合されるべき2枚の加硫
ゴムシートの縁部間にオレフィン系樹脂からなる接合用
テープを介在させ、この接合用テープの溶融により上下
の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を接着する。上記の加硫ゴムシ
ートは、施工現場の状況に応じて任意形状に裁断され、
しかるのち接合すべき部分に接合用テープが挟まれ、こ
の接合用テープの上下両面およびこの接合用テープと対
向する上側加硫ゴムシートの縁部下面、下側加硫ゴムシ
ートの縁部上面がそれぞれ加熱され、これら三者の挟圧
により上下の加硫ゴムシートが接着される。
【0008】上記の加熱を行うための上側ヒータおよび
下側ヒータは、上側加硫ゴムシートと接合用テープの対
向面および接合用テープと下側加硫ゴムシートの対向面
をそれぞれ融着可能で、しかも接合用テープを溶断しな
い温度に加熱できるものであればよく、鏝または熱風、
特に両者の併用が好ましい。そして、加熱後に上下2枚
の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を挟圧して融着する。したがっ
て、接着剤接着に比べて強い接着力が得られ、使用中の
剥離がなく、接合部の信頼性が向上する。
【0009】上記の挟圧は、上下一対の圧着ローラを互
いに反対向きに等速度で回転させながら行うことが好ま
しく、こうすることにより、2枚の加硫ゴムシート間に
ずれが生じることがなく、接合部に皺が発生しない。特
に、隣接する2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を2本の平行
線に沿って接合し、2本の平行線間に検査用チャンネル
を形成した場合は、この検査用チャンネルの一端から加
圧空気を供給して空気洩れの有無を検査しても、接着部
の剥離が生じることがなく、接合部の信頼性を一層向上
させることができる。また、1本の接合用テープの中央
にあらかじめ孔を開けておき、このテープの両側縁部を
融着した場合は、テープの取扱いが容易であり、しかも
表裏の検査用チャンネルが上記の孔で連絡されるため、
検査も表裏に分けずに1回で済む利点がある。
【0010】上記の加硫ゴムシートは、オレフィン系樹
脂からなる接合用テープとの接着性および耐候性の点か
らEPM、特にEPDMが好ましい。また、接合用テー
プの材料としては、オレフィン系樹脂が使用されるが、
オレフィン系樹脂としては接着が容易な点でポリエチレ
ンおよびポリプロピレンが好ましく、特に低密度ポリエ
チレンが好ましい。なお、上記の接合用テープは、長さ
方向と平行に配列された多数本の繊維または織物、不織
布等で補強し、接合用テープの寸法安定性を高めること
ができる。
【0011】上記接合用テープの厚みは0.5〜2.5
mmが好ましく、0.5mm未満では薄過ぎて加熱時に溶断
し易く、反対に2.5mmを超えると厚過ぎて加熱に長時
間を要し、不経済である。また、幅は10〜150mmが
好ましく、10mm未満では接着力が不十分となり、反対
に150mmを超えると必要以上に広くなって不経済であ
る。また、2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を2本の平行線
に沿って接合して検査用チャンネルを形成する場合にお
ける上記平行線の間隔は、検査が可能であれば任意に設
定できるが、経済性の面から20mm以下が好ましい。ま
た、1本の接合線の線幅は10mm以上が好ましく、10
mm未満では接着力が不足する。なお、この場合の接合用
テープ幅は25mm以上が好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】実施形態1 図1は、熱可塑性合成樹脂シートの接合に使用されてい
る市販の熱風式自動溶接機(ライスター社製「ツイニー
S」)の一部を改造した装置の要部を示す斜視図であ
り、10は水平に支架された主軸であり、右上の自走式
台車(図示されていない)に片持ち状に固定された主軸
カバー(図示されていない)内に支持され、同じく該台
車上に設置されている駆動用モータ(図示されていな
い)で駆動されて回転する。この主軸10の先端側に第
1スプロケット11および第1歯車12が並設され、主
軸10の後方(図の右下方)に上部圧着ローラ13が主
軸10と平行に設けられ、この上部圧着ローラ13の左
端部に固定された第2スプロケット14に上記の第1ス
プロケット11が無端チェーン15で連結される。
【0013】上記主軸10の下方には中間軸16が主軸
10と平行に配置され、上記主軸カバーの左端下部に接
続された片持ち状の中間軸カバー(図示されていない)
内に支持され、中間軸16の左端に固定された第2歯車
17が主軸10上の第1歯車12と噛み合う。そして、
中間軸16の右側自由端に第3スプロケット18が固定
され、上記中間軸カバーの右側自由端から後方に延びる
後向きアーム(図示されていない)の後端に上記の上部
圧着ローラ13の下面と接する下部圧着ローラ19の右
端部が片持ち状に支持され、下部圧着ローラ19の右端
に第4スプロケット20が固定され、この第4スプロケ
ット20に上記の第3スプロケット18が無端チェーン
21で連結され、上部圧着ローラ13と下部圧着ローラ
19とが互いに反対向きに等しい周速度で回転する。
【0014】上記の上部圧着ローラ13および下部圧着
ローラ19のニップ部と中間軸16との間に上下2個の
偏平な箱形のヒータ22が挿入される。このヒータ22
は、図1の左上を前方としたとき、左側面に熱風供給口
22aを、また後面に横に長い熱風吹出し口22bをそ
れぞれ有し、熱風供給ダクト23から熱風供給口22a
に吹き込んだ熱風がヒータ22の全面を加熱し、熱風を
熱風吹出し口22bから後向きに吹き出すようになって
おり、その上下両面が加熱用の鏝を構成している。な
お、上記のヒータ22は、外力により前下がりまたは前
上がりに傾斜可能な構造とすることができる。そして、
図2、3に示すように、上部ヒータ22の上面に1個ま
たは複数個の上面押さえローラ24が、また下部ヒータ
22の下面に1個または複数個の下面押さえローラ25
がそれぞれ設けられる。なお、上記の下面押さえローラ
25は、上記の中間軸16および下部圧着ローラ19の
軸を接続する後向きアーム(図示されていない)に片持
ち状に支持される。
【0015】図1〜図3において、1Aは接合に供され
る一方の加硫ゴムシート、1Bは他方の加硫ゴムシー
ト、2は接合用テープである。一方の上側加硫ゴムシー
ト1Aおよび他方の下側加硫ゴムシート1Bが両者の縁
部で前者を上にして重ねるように施工面上に並べられ、
上側加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部よりも幅方向内側(図1
の右上方)に前記熱風式自動溶接機の自走式台車が置か
れる。そして、主軸10、上面押さえローラ24および
上部圧着ローラ13の列と、中間軸16および上部ヒー
タ22の列との間に上側加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部が挿
入される。また、上記中間軸16および上部ヒータ22
の列と、下部ヒータ22との間に接合用テープ2が挿入
される。また、下部ヒータ22と、下部押さえローラ2
5および下部圧着ローラ19の列との間に下側加硫ゴム
シート1Bの縁部が挿入される。ただし、主軸10、上
面押さえローラ24、上部圧着ローラ13の列を昇降自
在に形成し、その上昇位置で上部ヒータ22上に上側加
硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部を乗せ、しかるのち主軸10、
上面押さえローラ24、上部圧着ローラ13の列を下ろ
してもよい。
【0016】上記のように加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを
セットした後、熱風式自動溶接機を駆動すると、自走式
台車が矢印P方向に走行を始め(図2参照)、上部圧着
ローラ13が反時計方向に、下部圧着ローラ19が時計
方向にそれぞれ回転し、2個のヒータ22が上下の加硫
ゴムシート1A、1B間を矢印P方向に前進し、ヒータ
22の後の上下一対の圧着ローラ13、19が上記の加
硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを挟んで転動する。同時に熱風
が上下のヒータ22に供給され、ヒータ22を加熱して
上部ヒータ22の上面および下面がそれぞれ上側加硫ゴ
ムシート1Aの下面および接合用テープ2の上面を予熱
し、また下部ヒータ22の上面および下面がそれぞれ接
合用テープ2の下面および下側加硫ゴムシート1Bの上
面を予熱する。また、上下のヒータ22の熱風吹出し口
22bから熱風が吹き出し、上部ヒータ22から吹き出
した熱風がヒータ22を離れた直後の加硫ゴムシート1
Aおよび接合用テープ2の接触開始部内面を加熱して接
合用テープ2の上面を溶融する一方、下部ヒータ22か
ら吹き出した熱風がヒータ22を離れた直後の加硫ゴム
シート1Bおよび接合用テープ2の接触開始部内面を加
熱して接合用テープ2の下面を溶融し、この状態で加硫
ゴムシート1A、1Bを上下一対の圧着ローラ13、1
9が挟んで接合する。
【0017】EPDMからなる加硫ゴムシート1A、1
Bを所定の幅に製造し、所定の長さに切断し、これを施
工現場に運んで配列し、一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁
部を他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bの縁部に重ね、両者の縁
部間に低密度ポリエチレンからなる接合用テープ2(厚
さ0.5〜2.5mm、幅10〜150mm)を挟む。次い
で、図1〜3に示す熱風式自動溶接機をセットし、この
溶接機を0.5〜3m/分の速度で走行させながら、そ
の上下のヒータ22に温度150〜500℃の熱風を供
給し、上下一対の圧着ローラ13、19間の圧力100
〜1200N/cm2 で上記の加硫ゴムシート1A、1B
を接合する。
【0018】実施形態2 加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bの接合部に検査用チャンネル
を形成するため、図1〜3の箱形のヒータ22および圧
着ローラ13、19に代えて図4のヒータ26および圧
着ローラ27、28を用いる。すなわち、上下のヒータ
26は、それぞれ左右2個の偏平なパイプ状に形成さ
れ、その間が小径のパイプ26aで連結されており、ヒ
ータ26の背面には複数個の小径の熱風吹出し口26b
が開口する。また、圧着ローラ27、28は、それぞれ
左右2個の狭い幅に形成され、間が軸部27a、28a
で接続されたものである。なお、ヒータ26の上下両面
は前記同様に鏝を構成する。
【0019】図5に示すように、EPDMからなる上側
加硫ゴムシート1Aおよび下側加硫ゴムシート1Bの縁
部間に低密度ポリエチレンからなる2本の接合用テープ
2(厚さ0.5〜2.5mm、幅10〜150mm)を、両
者間に5〜20mmの間隔Dを空けて供給し、図4のヒー
タ26および圧着ローラ27、28を備えた熱風式自動
溶接機を用い、その他は実施形態1と同様にし、上下の
加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを上記2本の接合用テープ2
を介して接合し、左右2本の接合用テープ2間に検査用
チャンネル3を形成する。
【0020】実施形態3 図4(実施形態2)の熱風式自動溶接機に、その左右の
ヒータ26にまたがる広幅の接合用テープ2(厚さ0.
5〜2.5mm、幅25〜150mm)を供給し、その他は
実施形態1と同様にして加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを上
記の接合用テープ2で接合する。この場合は、図6に示
すように、接合用テープ2の両側縁部は、上下両面とも
加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bに融着され、中間部は上下両
面とも加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bから遊離し、接合用テ
ープ2の中間部の表裏両側に幅5〜20mmの検査用チャ
ンネル4が形成され、両側の検査が可能になる。また、
1本の接合用テープ2を用いるので、左右の2本を用い
る実施形態2に比べて接合作業時の取扱いが容易であ
る。
【0021】実施形態4 実施形態3の接合用テープ2の中心線に沿ってあらかじ
め円形、方形等の任意形状の孔2aを1個または複数個
設け(図7参照)、この接合用テープ2を図4の熱風式
自動溶接機に供給して上下の加硫ゴムシート1A、1B
を接合する。図7において、2bは接合部である。この
場合は、実施形態3と同様に1本の接合用テープの左右
両側に接合部2bが形成され、この2本の接合部2bの
間の中間部の表裏両面に検査用チャンネル4(図6参
照)が形成され、かつ表裏の検査用チャンネル4が上記
の孔2aで連絡されるので、2本の接合用テープを用い
る実施形態2に比べて取扱いが容易であり、かつ1本の
接合用テープをそのまま用いる実施形態3に比べて検査
が1回で済み、検査作業が一層容易となる。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、廃棄物処分場等の施
工現場で加硫ゴムシート同士を接合して敷設することが
でき、その際に接着力の強い接合部が得られ、検査用チ
ャンネルの形成が容易であり、しかも接合用テープを一
方の加硫ゴムシートにあらかじめ融着する必要がなく、
融着による接合作業が1回だけでよい。特に請求項2に
記載の発明によれば、検査用チャンネルが形成され、ま
た請求項3記載の発明によれば、接合が一層容易にな
り、施工後の耐候性が向上する。

  1. 【請求項1】 2枚の加硫ゴムシートを両者の縁部が上
    下に重なるように並べて接合する方法において、上記2
    枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部間にオレフィン系樹脂からな
    る接合用テープを挟み、上側加硫ゴムシートと接合用テ
    ープとの間に両者の対向面を加熱するための上側ヒータ

    者の対向面を加熱するための下側ヒータをそれぞれ挿入
    し、この上下のヒータを加硫ゴムシートの縁部に沿って
    一方向に走行させながら上記の対向面を加熱し、上記ヒ
    ータの走行方向に対して後方で上側加硫ゴムシート、接
    合用テープおよび下側加硫ゴムシートの三者を挟圧して
    上記二枚の加硫ゴムシートを接合用テープの融着で接合
    することを特徴とする加硫ゴムシートの接合方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を2本の平
    行線に沿って接合し、2本の平行線間に検査用チャンネ
    ルを形成する請求項1に記載された加硫ゴムシートの接
    合方法。
  3. 【請求項3】 加硫ゴムシートがEPDMであり、オレ
    フィン系樹脂が低密度ポリエチレンである請求項1また
    は2に記載された加硫ゴムシートの接合方法。
