(57)【要約】 【課題】 廃棄物処分場等の施工現場で加硫ゴム
シート同士を接合する際に接着力の強い接合部が得ら
れ、検査用チャンネルの形成が容易であり、かつ接合部
における上下の加硫ゴムシート間にずれが生じない。 【解決手段】 2枚の加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを両
者の縁部が上下に重なるように並べて接合する方法にお
いて、一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部上にあらかじめ
オレフィン系樹脂からなる接合用テープ2を熱融着で固
着し、次いでこの接合用テープ2上に他方の加硫ゴムシ
ート1Bの縁部を重ねながら、その重なる直前の対向面
を加熱し、しかるのち互いに反対向きに等速度で回転す
る上下一対の圧着ローラ12、18間に上下2枚の加硫
ゴムシートの縁部を挟んでこの両者を上記接合用テープ
2の融着で接合する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、廃棄物処分場、貯水
池、雨水の貯留場、河川の堤防等の土木分野における遮
水および建築物の陸屋根等の防水に使用される加硫ゴム
シートの接合方法に関するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】廃棄物処分場等の遮水または防水を目的
として敷設される加硫ゴムシートは、工場生産の際に幅
と長さが所定の大きさに決定されるため、敷設に際して
は現場の広さや形状に応じて上記の加硫ゴムシートを裁
断し、次いで隣接する2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を上
下に重ねて接合している。そして、接合方法としては、
上下に重ねられる縁部の少なくとも一方に溶剤系の接着
剤を所定幅の1本または2本の線状に塗布し、この塗布
面に他方の縁部を重ね、接着剤が半乾燥のときに重なり
部をローラで加圧する方法が採用されている。
【0003】しかしながら、この方法は、ボリ塩化ビニ
ルやポリエチレンを熱融着する場合に比べて接着力が低
くて使用中に剥離し易く、また接着剤を2本の平行線状
に塗布して重なり部に検査用チャンネルを形成し、その
一端から加圧空気を供給して空気洩れの有無を検査する
際に空気圧を強くすることができず、検査結果の信頼性
が低くなる等の問題があった。
【0004】また、施工面に敷いた加硫ゴムシート上で
加圧ローラを転動させるので、上下のゴムシート間にず
れが生じ、皺の原因となった。なお、重なり部を上下一
対のローラ間に挟む方法も知られているが、一方のロー
ラのみを駆動し、他方のローラを単なる押さえローラと
していたので、上記のずれ発生を防ぐことができなかっ
た。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】この発明は、廃棄物処
分場等の施工現場で加硫ゴムシート同士を接合する際に
接着力の強い接合部が得られ、検査用チャンネルの形成
が容易であり、かつ接合部における上下の加硫ゴムシー
ト間にずれの生じることがなく、皺のない接合部が得ら
れるようにしたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明に係る加硫ゴム
シートの接合方法は、2枚の加硫ゴムシートを両者の縁
部が上下に重なるように並べて接合する方法において、
一方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部上にあらかじめオレフィン
系樹脂からなる接合用テープを熱融着で固着し、次いで
この接合用テープ上に他方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を重
ねながら、その重なる直前の対向面を加熱し、しかるの
ち互いに反対向きに等速度で回転する上下一対の圧着ロ
ーラ間に上下2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を挟んでこの
両者を上記接合用テープの融着で接合することを特徴と
する。
【0007】この発明では、接合されるべき一方の加硫
ゴムシートの縁部上にオレフィン系樹脂からなる接合用
テープが熱融着で固着される。この接合用テープは、施
工現場で現場の状況に応じて加硫ゴムシートを裁断し、
しかるのち接合すべき部分に熱融着することができる。
また、工場で所定の幅と長さに製造した後、その縁部に
沿って熱融着し、施工現場の状況に応じて加硫ゴムシー
トを裁断した後、必要部分のみに接合用テープを熱融着
してもよく、この場合は前者の方法に比べて施工現場で
の手数が減少する。
【0008】そして、一方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部に固
着された接合用テープ上に他方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部
を重ねて熱融着するが、この場合、重なる直前の接合用
テープおよび他方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部の対向面が加
熱され、しかるのち上下一対の圧着ローラで挟圧されて
上下2枚の加硫ゴムシートが両者間の接合用テープを介
して接合される。加熱手段は、融着可能な温度に加熱で
きるものであればよく、鏝もしくは熱風、特に両者の併
用が好ましい。
【0009】この発明では、上記の加熱後、2枚の加硫
ゴムシートの縁部を上下一対の圧着ローラで挟圧して融
着する。この場合、上下一対の圧着ローラが互いに反対
向きに等速度で回転するので、2枚の加硫ゴムシート間
にずれが生じることがなく、接合部に皺が発生しない。
しかも、熱融着であるため、接着剤接着に比べて強い接
着力が得られ、使用中の剥離がなく、接合部の信頼性が
向上する。特に、隣接する2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部
を2本の平行線に沿って接合し、2本の平行線間に検査
用チャンネルを形成した場合は、この検査用チャンネル
の一端から加圧空気を供給して空気洩れの有無を検査し
ても、接着部に剥離が生じることがなく、接合部の信頼
性を一層向上させることができる。
【0010】上記の加硫ゴムシートは、オレフィン系樹
脂からなる接合用テープとの接着性および耐候性の点か
らEPM、特にEPDMが好ましい。また、接合用テー
プの材料としては、オレフィン系樹脂が使用されるが、
オレフィン系樹脂としては接着が容易な点でポリエチレ
ンおよびポリプロピレンが好ましく、特に低密度ポリエ
チレンが好ましい。なお、上記の接合用テープは、長さ
方向と平行に配列された多数本の繊維または織物、不織
布等で補強し、接合用テープの寸法安定性を高めること
ができる。
【0011】上記接合用テープの厚みは0.5〜2.5
mmが好ましく、0.5mm未満では薄過ぎて加熱時に溶断
し易く、反対に2.5mm超えると厚過ぎて加熱に長時間
を要して不経済である。また、幅は10〜150mmが好
ましく、10mm未満では接着力が不十分となり、反対に
150mmを超えると必要以上に広くなって不経済であ
る。また、2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を2本の平行線
に沿って接合して検査用チャンネルを形成する場合にお
ける上記平行線の間隔は、検査が可能であれば任意に設
定できるが、経済性の面から20mm以下が好ましい。ま
た、1本の接合線の線幅は10mm以上が好ましく、10
mm未満では接着力が不足する。なお、この場合の接合用
テープ幅は25mm以上が好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施形態1 図1は、熱可塑性合成樹脂シートの接合に使用されてい
る市販の熱風式自動溶接機(ライスター社製「ツイニー
S」)の要部を示す斜視図であり、10は水平に支架さ
れた主軸であり、右上の自走式台車(図示されていな
い)に片持ち状に固定された主軸カバー(図示されてい
ない)内に支持され、同じく該台車上に設置されている
駆動用モータ(図示されていない)で駆動されて回転す
る。この主軸10の先端側に第1スプロケット11およ
び第1歯車11Aが並設され、主軸10の後方(図の右
下方)に上部圧着ローラ12が主軸10と平行に設けら
れ、この上部圧着ローラ12の左端部に固定された第2
スプロケット13に上記の第1スプロケット11が無端
チェーン14で連結される。
【0013】上記主軸10の下方には中間軸15が主軸
10と平行に配置され、上記主軸カバーの左端下部に接
続された片持ち状の中間軸カバー(図示されていない)
内に支持され、中間軸15の左端に固定された第2歯車
16が主軸10上の第1歯車11Aと噛み合う。そし
て、中間軸15の右側自由端に第3スプロケット17が
固定され、上記中間軸カバーの右側自由端から後方に延
びる後向きアーム(図示されていない)の後端に上記の
上部圧着ローラ12の下面と接する下部圧着ローラ18
の右端部が片持ち状に支持され、下部圧着ローラ18の
右端に第4スプロケット19が固定され、この第4スプ
ロケット19に上記の第3スプロケット17が無端チェ
ーン20で連結され、上部圧着ローラ12と下部圧着ロ
ーラ18とが互いに反対向きに等しい周速度で回転す
る。
【0014】上記の上部圧着ローラ12および下部圧着
ローラ18のニップ部と中間軸15との間に箱形の鏝2
1が挿入される。この鏝21は、図1の左上を前方とし
たとき、左側面に熱風供給口21aを、また後面に後部
吹出し口21bを、また前面(図2参照)に前部吹出し
口21cをそれぞれ有し、かつ前部吹出し口21cに対
向する制御板21dを備え、熱風供給ダクト22から熱
風供給口21aに吹き込んだ熱風が鏝21の全面を加熱
し、前部吹出し口21cから上下に別れて吹き出し、か
つ後部吹出し口21bから後向きに吹き出すようになっ
ている。そして、鏝21の上面に1個または複数個の上
面押さえローラ23が、また下面に1個または複数個の
下面押さえローラ24がそれぞれ設けられる。なお、上
記の下面押さえローラ24は、上記の中間軸15および
下部圧着ローラ18の軸を接続する後向きアーム(図示
されていない)に片持ち状に支持される。
【0015】図1、図2において、1Aは接合に供され
る一方の加硫ゴムシート、1Bは他方の加硫ゴムシー
ト、2は一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部にあらかじめ
融着された接合用テープである。一方の加硫ゴムシート
1Aおよび他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bが両者の縁部で後
者を上にして重ねるように施工面上に並べられ、他方の
加硫ゴムシート1Bの縁部よりも幅方向内側に前記熱風
式自動溶接機の自走式台車が置かれ、下部圧着ローラ1
8および下面押さえローラ24のローラ列と鏝21およ
び中間軸15の列との間に一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの
縁部が接合用テープ2と共に挿入される。そして、上記
主軸10、上面押さえローラ23、上部圧着ローラ12
の列と鏝21との間に他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bの縁部
が挿入される。ただし、主軸10、上面押さえローラ2
3、上部圧着ローラ12の列を昇降自在に形成し、その
上昇位置で鏝21上に他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bの縁部
を乗せ、しかるのち主軸10、上面押さえローラ23、
上部圧着ローラ12の列を下降させてもよい。
【0016】上記のように加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを
セットした後、熱風式自動溶接機を駆動すると、自走式
台車が矢印P方向に走行を始め(図2参照)、上部圧着
ローラ12が反時計方向に、下部圧着ローラ18が時計
方向にそれぞれ回転し、箱形の鏝21が上下の加硫ゴム
シート1A、1B間を矢印P方向に前進し、鏝21の後
の上下一対の圧着ローラ12、18が上記の加硫ゴムシ
ート1A、1Bを挟んで転動する。同時に熱風が上記の
鏝21に供給され、鏝21を加熱しながら前部吹出し口
21cから上下に吹き出して加硫ゴムシート1A、1B
の対向面を加熱し、続いて鏝21の下面板が一方の加硫
ゴムシート1Aを、また鏝21の上面板が他方の加硫ゴ
ムシート1Bをそれぞれ加熱し、更に鏝21の後部吹出
し口21bから吹き出す熱風が鏝21を離れた直後の加
硫ゴムシート1A、1Bの接触開始部内面を加熱して一
方の加硫ゴムシート1A上の接合用テープ2(図1参
照)の表面を溶融し、この溶融状態で加硫ゴムシート1
A、1Bを上下一対の圧着ローラ12、18が挟んで接
合する。
【0017】EPDMからなる加硫ゴムシート1A、1
Bを所定の幅に製造し、所定の長さに切断し、その片側
の縁部に沿って低密度ポリエチレンからなる接合用テー
プ2(厚さ0.5〜2.5mm、幅10〜150mm)を常
法により加熱下で圧着して融着し、これを施工現場に運
んで配列する。ただし、図1に示すように、一方の加硫
ゴムシート1A上の接合用テープ2の上に他方の加硫ゴ
ムシート1Bの上記接合用テープ2が貼られてない側を
重ねる。次いで、図1、2に示す熱風式自動溶接機をセ
ットし、この熱風式自動溶接機を0.5〜3m/分の速
度で走行させながら、その鏝21に温度150〜500
℃の熱風を供給し、上下一対の圧着ローラ12、18間
の圧力100〜1200N/cm2 で上記の加硫ゴムシー
ト1A、1Bを接合する。
【0018】平行に並べられた多数枚の加硫ゴムシート
1A、1Bを側縁部で接合したのち、長さ方向の両端部
または任意の裁断端部のように接合用テープ2の未貼着
縁部で接合する必要が生じた場合は、上記の熱風式自動
溶接機を用いて、例えば一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aにお
ける接合用テープ2の未貼着縁部に接合用テープ2を貼
着することができる。図3(a)において、一方の加硫
ゴムシート1Aは前記鏝21の下面から、また接合用テ
ープ2は鏝21の上面からそれぞれ圧着ローラ12、1
8のニップ部に導かれ、この圧着ローラ12、18の挟
圧により接着される。次いで、図1、2の熱風式自動溶
接機を用いることにより、一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの
上の接合用テープ2および他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bが
鏝21で加熱された後、図3(b)に示すように圧着ロ
ーラ12、18の挟圧により接合される。
【0019】実施形態2 加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bの接合部に検査用チャンネル
を形成するため、図1、2の箱形の鏝21および圧着ロ
ーラ12、18に代えて図4の鏝21Aおよび圧着ロー
ラ12A、18Aを用いる。すなわち、鏝21Aの上下
両面の幅方向中央部に谷形凹部21eが、後面に左右2
個の後部吹出し口21bが、また前面には左右2個の後
部吹出し口21c(図示されていない)がそれぞれ形成
される。また、圧着ローラ12A、18Aは、狭い幅に
作られたもの2個を左右に隔ててローラ軸12B、18
B上に固定される。
【0020】図5(a)に示すように、EPDMからな
る加硫ゴムシート1Aの片側縁部に低密度ポリエチレン
からなる2本の接合用テープ2(厚さ0.5〜2.5m
m、幅10〜150mm)を、両者間に5〜20mmの間隔
Dを空けて常法により加熱下で圧着して融着し、これを
施工現場に運んで配列する。そして、施工現場におい
て、図4の鏝21Aおよび圧着ローラ12A、18Aを
備えた熱風式自動溶接機を用い、その他は実施形態1と
同様にし、一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aの縁部に上記2本
の接合用テープ2を介して他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bを
接合する。図5(b)は、その接合状態を示し、左右2
本の接合用テープ2間に検査用チャンネル3が形成され
る。なお、必要に応じ、上記施工現場において一方の加
硫ゴムシート1A上に上記2本の接合用テープ2を、上
記の熱風式自動溶接機で固着することができる。
【0021】実施形態3 実施形態1に比して広幅の接合用テープ2(厚さ0.5
〜2.5mm、幅25〜150mm)の両側縁部を一方の加
硫ゴムシート1Aに固着し、両側縁部の間に非接着部を
形成する。ただし、非接着部の幅は、好ましくは5〜2
0mmに設定される。次いで、実施形態2の熱風式自動溶
接機を用いて加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bを上記の接合用
テープ2で接合する。この場合は、図6に示すように、
接合用テープ2の両側縁部は、上下両面とも加硫ゴムシ
ート1A、1Bに融着され、中間部は上下両面とも加硫
ゴムシート1A、1Bから遊離して、接合用テープ2の
中間部両側に検査用チャンネル4が形成され、両側の検
査が可能になる。
【0022】なお、上記施工現場において、必要に応
じ、一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aに対する接合用テープ2
の接着および加硫ゴムシート1A、1Bの接合の双方を
実施形態2の熱風式自動溶接機で行うことができる。
【0023】実施形態4 実施形態3の接合用テープ2の中心線に沿ってあらかじ
め円形、方形等の任意形状の多数の孔を開け、この接合
用テープ2を一方の加硫ゴムシート1Aに前記同様に接
着し、次いで他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bと接合すること
ができる。図7に示す接合用テープ2Aは、方形の孔2
cを多数個、1列に設けた梯子形のものであり、この接
合用テープ2Aの両側縁部が一方の加硫ゴムシート1A
の縁部に沿って固着され、しかるのち実施形態2の熱風
式自動溶接機を用いて他方の加硫ゴムシート1Bが接合

線状に形成され、この2本の接合部2d間に検査用チャ
ンネルが形成される。この場合は、2本の接合用テープ
を用いる実施形態2に比べて取扱いが容易であり、また
接合用テープ2Aの上下の検査用チャンネルが孔2cの
部分で連絡されるので、1本の接合用テープをそのまま
用いる実施形態3に比べて検査が1回で済み、検査作業
が容易となる。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、廃棄物処分場等の施
工現場で加硫ゴムシート同士を接合して敷設することが
でき、その際に接着力の強い接合部が得られ、検査用チ
ャンネルの形成が容易であり、かつ接合部における上下
の加硫ゴムシート間にずれの生じることがなく、皺のな
い接合部が得られる。特に請求項2に記載の発明によれ
ば、検査用チャンネルが形成され、また請求項3記載の
発明によれば、接合が一層容易になり、施工後の耐候性
が向上する。

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 2枚の加硫ゴムシートを両者の縁部が上
    下に重なるように並べて接合する方法において、一方の
    加硫ゴムシートの縁部上にあらかじめオレフィン系樹脂
    からなる接合用テープを熱融着で固着し、次いでこの接
    合用テープ上に他方の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を重ねなが
    ら、その重なる直前の対向面を加熱し、しかるのち互い
    に反対向きに等速度で回転する上下一対の圧着ローラ間
    に上下2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を挟んでこの両者を
    上記接合用テープの融着で接合することを特徴とする加
    硫ゴムシートの接合方法。
  2. 【請求項2】 2枚の加硫ゴムシートの縁部を2本の平
    行線に沿って接合し、2本の平行線間に検査用チャンネ
    ルを形成する請求項1に記載された加硫ゴムシートの接
    合方法。
  3. 【請求項3】 加硫ゴムシートがEPDMであり、オレ
    フィン系樹脂が低密度ポリエチレンである請求項1また
    は2に記載された加硫ゴムシートの接合方法。
