Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 耐火性金属炭化物および固溶体(混合金属)炭化物から選択される少な くとも1種のセラミック材料から本質的に成る高密度化したセラミック素地であ って、この素地の平均粒子サイズが0.0ミクロメートルより大きく1.1ミク ロメートル未満の範囲内であり、密度が理論密度の少なくとも98パーセントで ありそして空隙容積が2%未満であり、この素地が、加圧下で高密度化を受けさ せたセラミック素地であるか或は焼結を受けさせたセラミック素地である、高密 度化したセラミック素地。 2. この素地が加圧下で高密度化を受けさせた素地であって少なくとも24 kg/mmのPalmqvistじん性と少なくとも1800kg/mm2の硬 度を示す請求の範囲1記載の高密度化したセラミック素地。 3. この素地が焼結を受けさせた素地であって少なくとも24kg/mmの Palmqvistじん性と少なくとも1700kg/mm2の硬度を示す請求 の範囲1記載の高密度化したセラミック素地。 4. 該金属炭化物および固溶体炭化物粉末の金属部分を元素周期律表(Ch emical Abstracts Service(CAS)版)のIVB、 VBおよびVIB族から選択する請求の範囲1記載の高密度化した素地。 5. 該耐火性金属炭化物を炭化ハフニウム、炭化チタン、炭化バナジウム、 炭化ニオブ、炭化タングステン、炭化クロム、炭化ジルコニウムおよび炭化モリ ブデンから選択する請求の範囲1記載の高密度化した素地。 6. 該固溶体炭化物を炭化タングステン−チタン、炭化タングステン−モリ ブデン、炭化タングステン−バナジウム、炭化タングステン−タンタル、炭化モ リブデン−タンタル、炭化チタン−タンタル、炭化タングステン−チタン−タン タル、炭化ハフニウム−タンタル、炭化チタン−ハフニウム、炭化タングステン −クロム、炭化タングステン−チタン−クロム、炭化タングステン−タンタル− クロムおよび炭化チタン−タンタル−ハフニウムから選択する請求の範囲1記載 の高密度化した素地。 7. 該素地が多結晶性を示す炭化タングステンから本質的に成る加圧高密度 化素地である請求の範囲2または請求の範囲5記載の高密度化した素地。 8. 該素地が、粒子サイズを小さくするとそれと同時にビッカース硬度と破 壊じん性(KIC)が高くなる請求の範囲7記載の高密度化した素地。 9. 該ビッカース硬度が少なくとも2000kg/mm2でありそして該じ ん性(KIC)が少なくとも5.0MPa・m1/2である請求の範囲7記載の高密 度化した素地。 10. 該平均粒子サイズが0.1ミクロメートル以上でありそして該素地の ビッカース硬度が2000から3000kg/mm2でありそしてじん性(KIC )が7.0MPa・m1/2である請求の範囲7記載の高密度化した素地。 11. 炭化タングステン以外の本質的に全ての材料が粒子境界三重点の所に 濃縮している請求の範囲7記載の高密度化した素地。 12. 該三重点の大きさが200オングストローム(Å)x400 Å(20ナノメートル(nm)x40nm)である請求の範囲11記載の高密度 化した素地。 13. 該素地が本質的に完全に高密度化していて如何なる空隙のサイズもW C粒子のサイズより小さい請求の範囲11記載の高密度化した素地。
