Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) この発明は、融着可能な合成樹脂材料の層を有
する積層フイルムの端部を相互に重ね合わせて接
合する方法、およびチユーブに関する。
(従来の技術・発明が解決しようとする問題点) 積層フイルムの層はフイルムが例えば包装材料
として使用される場合さまざまな役目を有する。
被包装物に面した層は被包装物に対し化学的に中
性でなければならない。少くとも1層の中間層
は、特に包装容器用フイルムとして使用する場
合、希望する強度と希望する弾性を得るのに役立
つ。外層は印刷可能でなければならず、また視覚
的、物質的に興味深い表面を有すべきである。拡
散性物質の場合には更に中間層を拡散防止層とし
て構成することが必要になることがある。例えば
中間層の1層が金属製であると残りの層との確実
な接合を確保するため普通金属層の両面に接着層
が必要となる。外層の少くとも1層は製造する包
装が溶接可能となるよう溶接用合成樹脂から構成
される。
包装チユーブ用と指定されたチユーブは普通長
手シームを有し、このシーム部で積層フイルムの
重ね合わせた合わせ部が互いに溶接される。
その際、一方の合わせ部の内面が他方の合わせ
部の外面と溶接される。かかるシームは密封を実
現するのではあるが、その欠点として被包装物に
面した内層がフイルムの積層構造の結果シームに
沿つて切れることがある。これにより被包装物が
シームの範囲で化学的に中性の層と接触するだけ
でなく残りの層とも接触する虞がある。
このような事情に鑑みて、本発明は、シームレ
ス構造で接合両端部の層を平坦状態に維持する積
層フイルムの接合方法およびこの方法により製造
したチユーブを提供することを目的としている。
(課題を解決するための手段・作用) この目的を達成するため、本発明の積層フイル
ムの接合方法は、端部14,16を共に押圧する
作業の前に、内側端部16のエツジ20が予め長
手方向に傾斜してまたは段部形状にカツトされ、 共に押圧される接合表面10,12から離れた
前記合成樹脂材料の層6が、他の層または金属層
1〜5を越えて張り出しており、 前記端部14,16を収容する長手方向の溝2
4を少なくとも一方に備える一対のツール22,
26間に前記端部14,16を導き、 前記内側端部16のエツジ20を前記外側端部
14の内面10に当接することなく、前記両端部
14,16の合成樹脂層6,6を互いに溶融させ
て前記溝内の空間に流し込み、融着したシームを
覆つた、シームレスと平坦な層を形成することを
特徴としている。
これにより、溝内に収容される端部は、そこに
積層された金属層等が平坦状態を保ち、溶融した
合成樹脂が内側端部のエツジから張り出し、融着
したシームを覆つて、シームレスの平坦な層を形
成することができる。
このため、内側端部に曲げ応力が加わらないの
で、接合部分がはがれたり、外側の合成樹脂層が
薄くなつて他の層のエツジ部分が飛び出したりし
ない。
したがつて、被包装物がいずれかの中間層との
間で望ましくない接合を起こし、許されない接合
さえ起こすことが、本発明の方法により有効的に
防止される。本発明の方法により製造した接合部
はこれまで容器の特殊内張りや2重包装を必要と
した被包装物の包装にも好適である。
また、本発明の他の実施態様項によればフイル
ム内部に挾んだ金属層内に溶接熱が発生され、互
いに溶接する層の加熱を自由に制御して迅速に行
うことができる。これにより、望ましくない箇所
の加熱を防止することができ、引き続き行う冷却
操作を時間短縮して生産性を高めることができ
る。
また、本発明のツールは、例えば循環鋼テープ
で構成され、このテープのうち、溝を形成するテ
ープを予め熱することにより溶着作業を促進させ
かつ両端部の内挿を確実に溶融することができ
る。
さらに、本発明の接合方法により製造された包
装用チユーブはシームレスの平坦な層を形成し、
内容物が他の層に触れて化学的変化を起すことが
ない。
図面に基づいて本発明の実施例を詳しく説明す
る。
第1図は、包装チユーブ用チユーブのシーム製
造のための積層フイルムの重ね合わせた2つの合
わせ部を示す。フイルムの両合わせ部(端部)1
4,16は内面10と外面12を有する。内面1
0は被包装物に面している。図示配置の場合一方
の合わせ部14の内面10は他方の合わせ部16
の外面12上にある。外側合わせ部14の縁(エ
ツジ)18は真つすぐ切断してある。内側合わせ
部16の緑(エツジ)20は互いに加圧される面
10,12から離間した内層6が該合わせ部の残
りの層から張り出すよう斜めに切断してある。切
断縁20は横方向を基準に好ましくは40°の角度
を成す。第1図は50倍に拡大図示してある。
第2図は個々の層の説明を容易にするため外側
合わせ部14を100倍に拡大して示す。外層1は
熱可塑性樹脂、例えばポリエチレン、ポリプロピ
レンまたはそれらの共重合体からなる。フイルム
に希望する剛性を付与するため第二の層2は紙製
である。アルミニウム製の第四の層4と確実に接
合するため第三の層は合成樹脂接着層である。ア
ルミニウム層4は特に希望する弾性を得るのに役
立ち、場合によつて拡散防止層としても働く。ア
ルミニウム層4と内層6とを確実に接合するため
アルミニウム層4の反対面にも合成樹脂接着層5
が設けてある。内層6も熱可塑性樹脂からなり、
外層1と同様に溶接可能である。しかし内層6は
その性状が外層1と相違してもよい。内層6は例
えば透明にすることができるのに対し、印刷され
るようになつた外層1は好まくは着色される。
第3図は工具として利用される2本のテープ2
2,26間に第1図に示す重なり合つた層を示
す。内テープ22は、融着中反対側のテープ26
により重なり合つた合わせ部14,16が押し込
まれる長手溝24を有する鋼テープである。テー
プ22,26は図示省略した手段により回転駆動
され、フイルム両合わせ部14,16の接合はエ
ンドレスに連続して行われる。
融着熱は2層の重なり合つたアルミニウム層4
(第2図)内で高周波誘導加熱により発生される。
しかもこれを助けるため内テープ22は予熱して
ある。両合わせ部の直接加熱されたアルミニウム
層4が隣接した合成樹脂層、特に両接着層3,5
に熱を加え、更には内層を形成し反対側合わせ部
の内層と融着される熱可塑性樹脂層6にも熱を加
える。加熱されたアルミニウム層4から外側合成
樹脂層1に伝達される熱は間挿された紙層2(絶
縁層)2が絶縁作用を及ぼすので比較的少ない。
両合わせ部14,16の内側合成樹脂層6の集中
的加熱により完全な融着が行われ、内側合わせ部
16の合成樹脂6は切断縁20が斜めであるため
溢れ出ることになる。傾斜した切断縁20は更に
合成樹脂層6の材料流出を多くする。両テープ2
2,26間で溝24内に向けて働く接触圧によ
り、両合わせ部14,16は合成樹脂層6間の移
行が事実上シームレスとなる。
完成した接合部の横断面を第4図に示す。この
図からわかるように内側合わせ部16の熱可塑性
樹脂層1は傾斜切断縁20の範囲で圧縮され、そ
れに伴つて両接着層3,5(第2図)も圧縮して
尖端部28としてある。この尖端部28は内側合
成樹脂層6内に入り込んでいるが、両合わせ部1
4,16と合流した合成樹脂層6を中断してはい
ない。
両合わせ部14,16の外側合成樹脂層1は、
特に、やはり好ましくは鋼テープである外テープ
26から外側合わせ部14の層1に加わる圧力に
より、やはり合流して連続した層を形成する。層
1を中断することなく該層に押し込まれた接着層
3,5(第2図)の尖端部30が外側合わせ部1
4の切断縁18の箇所で押し出されている。
(発明の効果) 本発明によれば、重ね合わせ端部を収容する長
手方向の溝を備える一対のシール間に前記端部を
導き、内側端部のエツジを外側端部の内面に当接
することなく両端部の合成樹脂層を互いに溶融さ
せて前記溝内の空間に流し込むので、融着したシ
ームを覆つた、シームレスの平坦な層を形成する
ことができる。
このため、チユーブ内の内容物が触れる内層は
安全な合成樹脂層で覆われることになり、接合部
分がはがれたり、外側の合成樹脂層が薄くなつて
他の層のエツジ部分が飛び出したりしないので、
チユーブ内の内容物が化学的に変化する他の層と
接触して化学的に変化を起こすことがない。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 内面10と外面12もしくは少なくとも内面
    10に融着可能な合成樹脂材料の層6を有する積
    層フイルムの端部14,16を相互に重ね合わ
    せ、 内側端部16のエツジ20を越えて前記合成樹
    脂材料の層6を張り出し、外側端部14の内面1
    0が内側端部16の外面12に押しつけられ、前
    記合成樹脂材料の層6が外側端部14の内面10
    に押しつけられ、 前記端部14,16の接合表面10,12と前
    記層6が、熱及び圧力により共に溶けて前記内面
    10に融着したシームを形成して積層フイルムの
    端部14,16を重ね合わせる接合方法におい
    て、 端部14,16を共に押圧する作業の前に、端
    部16のエツジ20が予め長手方向に傾斜してま
    たは段部形状にカツトされ、 共に押圧される接合表面10,12から離れた
    前記合成樹脂材料の層6が、他の層または金属層
    1〜5を越えて張り出しており、 前記端部14,16を収容する長手方向の溝2
    4を少なくとも一方に備えるツール22,26の
    間に前記端部14,16を導き、 前記内側端部16のエツジ20を前記外側端部
    14の内面10に当接することなく、前記両端部
    14,16の合成樹脂層6,6を互いに溶融させ
    て前記溝内の空間に流し込み、融着したシームを
    覆つた、シームレスの平坦な層を形成することを
    特徴とする積層フイルムの接合方法。 2 端部16のエツジ20が、横断方向に関して
    約40°の角度にカツトされていることを特徴とす
    る特許請求の範囲第1項に記載の方法。 3 1つの金属層4とこの金属層、外側層1およ
    び内面層4の間に少なくとも1つの接合層3,5
    を備える積層フイルムを用いて、外側層1と内面
    層6に熱を加えることにより金属層4に熱が導入
    されることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項ま
    たは第2項に記載の方法。 4 融着作業において、外側端部14の内面層6
    と内側端部16の外側層1の加熱は、金属層4と
    外側層1の間の絶縁層2によつて制御されること
    を特徴とする特許請求の範囲第3項に記載の方
    法。 5 重ね合わせ端部14,16を連続的に接合す
    るために、端部14,16はシールである2つの
    ベルト22,26間に押圧される状態に収容され
    ており、前記ベルトは循環駆動され一方のベルト
    22には長手方向の溝24が配置されていること
    を特徴とする特許請求の範囲第1項ないし第4項
    のいずれかに記載の方法。 6 長手方向の溝24を有するベルト22は、予
    め熱せられていることを特徴とする特許請求の範
    囲第5項に記載の方法。 7 融着可能な合成樹脂材料の層1,6を有する
    積層フイルムから形成され、該フイルムがエツジ
    18,20を有する端部14,16を重ね合せて
    融着したシームを形成している包装用チユーブで
    あつて、 該チユーブの内面に配置されたエツジ20が1
    つの層6によつて覆われており、このエツジ20
    を覆う層6は、互いに流れる材料によりシームレ
    スに形成され、融着したシームを覆う平坦な層に
    なつていることを特徴とするチユーブ。 8 融着用合成樹脂材料の層6は、熱可塑性樹
    脂、時にポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、または
    それらの共重合体からなること特徴とする特許請
    求の範囲第7項に記載のチユーブ。
