Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、プロセスキツト及びプロセスキツト
を有する画像形成装置に関する。
電子写真複写装置、或いは簡単な印刷装置等の
画像形成装置では従来から白黒の色調によるもの
が主流である。電子写真複写装置に限るものでは
ないが本格的なカラー画像を可能とする画像形成
装置は非常に大形かつ高価であつて、一般ユーザ
ーが簡単に使用できる機会は少ない。しかるに、
近年、軽量、小型に限らず、広く複写機が使用さ
れるに至り、完全なカラー画像でなくともせめて
単色でもよいから手軽にカラー画像を得たいとい
う要望が高まりつつある。
今のところ本格的なカラー電子写真複写装置は
本体内に現像器を複数備えているのでスペースの
関係からどうしても大形になる。しかし、単色の
カラーとなれば現像器をとりたい色調用の現像器
と交換するだけで手軽にカラー複写ができる。
しかるに、一般のユーザーが現像器だけを像担
持体から取り外す場合、像担持体と触れて像担持
体面を損傷するとか、外部の塵埃を付着せしめる
等の問題がある。像担持体に光導伝層を用いた場
合、現像器の交換中に外部の光があたり光メモリ
ーが生じる問題もある。
本発明の目的は、上記従来技術の欠点を解消す
るプロセスキツト及びプロセスキツトを有する画
像形成装置を提供するものである。
即ち、本発明は、像担持体と、この像担持体に
作用する作用手段と、別体に設けられた現像器
を、現像位置に対応する像担持体の表面に対し接
離する動作に連動して、その現像位置に対応する
像担持体の表面を覆う第一位置と該第一位置から
退避した第二位置とを移動可能なシヤツターと、
像担持体、作用手段及びシヤツターとを支持する
筐体と、を有することを特徴とする画像形成装置
に着脱自在なプロセスキツトである。
また、さらに本発明は、像担持体と、この像担
持体に作用する作用手段と、現像位置に対応する
像担持体の表面を覆う第一位置と該第一位置から
退避した第二位置とを移動可能なシヤツターと、
像担持体、作用手段及びシヤツターとを支持する
筐体と、を有し装置本体に対し着脱自在なプロセ
スキツトと、移動可能な現像器と、現像器を現像
位置に対応する像担持体の表面に対し接離する
時、この接離動作に連動してシヤツターを移動さ
せる手段と、を有することを特徴とする画像形成
装置である。
以下、本発明の一実施例を図面により説明す
る。
第１図は本発明を適用した具体例を示す電子写
真複写装置の側断面図である。この複写装置１は
装置のほぼ中央に、導電性ドラム外周に光導伝層
を有する感光ドラム２を備えている。感光ドラム
２は時計方向に回転可能に支持されている。感光
ドラム２の外周には、回転方向に従つて、コロナ
放電器３、短焦点光学素子アレイ４、現像器５、
転写コロナ放電器６、クリーニング器が配設され
ている。この装置では、感光ドラム２とコロナ放
電器３とクリーニング器７が筐体８′内に設けら
れてプロセスキツト８を構成している。筐体８′
は、複写装置内のガイドレール９′，９″で摺動自
在に支承され、必要に応じて装置外へ取り出すこ
とができる。１０は往復移動する原稿台、１１は
原稿台照明ランプ、４′は透明部材である。１２
は転写材収納カセツト、１３は転写材の給送ロー
ラ、１４はタイミングローラ、１５は転写コロナ
放電器６と感光ドラム２間へ導くガイド部材、１
６は転写終了後の転写材の移動路、１７は定着ロ
ーラ対、１８は排出ローラ対、１９はコピーの排
紙トレーである。
プロセスキツト８を保護するためにシヤツター
２０，２４が設けられている。シヤツター２０は
感光ドラム２が転写部において露出している面を
保護するためのものでジヤム処理時あるいはキツ
ト交換時に、第２図に示すように上部筐体２２と
下部筐体２３に分割すべく本体を回動させる動き
に連動して、感光ドラム２の露出面を保護する方
向へ動き外部と遮断する。
本実施例に係るシヤツター２４は現像器５を本
体からガイドレール９，９″″に沿つて抜き出す
ときあるいはキツト８を本体から抜き出すときに
感光ドラム２の露出面を保護するように閉じられ
る。このときの移動機構を第３図以降に詳述す
る。第３図ａ及びｂは現像器５の移動に対するシ
ヤツター２４の開閉動作を示す。
第３図ａは複写動作中のシヤツター２４と現像
器５の状態である。このときには現像器５は、感
光ドラム２に極めて近接、若しくは接触の状態に
ある。そのため、現像器５をプロセスキツト８か
ら離脱するためには、両者を離間させた後完全に
離脱させるのが良策である。従つて、現像器５
は、その両側面を装置本体に回動可能に軸２５に
より支持されている。第３図ｂは現像器５を反時
計方向に回動して感光ドラム２から離間した状態
である。保護シヤツター２４は感光ドラム２と同
軸上にレバー２６，２７（第４図）により回動可
能に支持されている。このとき、シヤツター２４
は感光ドラム２の露出面を覆うように現像器との
離間部に移動する。
シヤツター２４と現像器５の連動機構を第４図
ａ及びｂに示す。第４図はシヤツター２４と現像
器５の関係を複写装置の奥側からみた図で現像器
５の回動軸２５からのびているレバー２８と感光
ドラム２の中心からシヤツター２４を支えている
レバー２７がレバー２８の先端のピン２８′によ
り図のようにかみあうことにより両者は連動す
る。レバー２８は複写装置本体に設けられている
ので第５図のように、現像器５の抜き差しに関係
なく本体側に残る。一方、現像器５を本体に装着
するときは、現像器５の凸部材２５′がレバー２
８の回動軸２８″部の凹部２８″と係合する。これ
により現像器５の揺動動作がレバー２８に伝達さ
れる。現像器５の回動軸２５は第４図ａ及びｂか
らも判るように左側へ偏心しているので現像器は
自重により回動軸２５に対して時計回り、即ち、
感光ドラム２から離れる方向に動く。現像器５を
感光ドラム２に近づけるには、現像器５外の下部
に配したカム２９を時計方向へ回す。第６図にお
いて、３０はカム２９を動かすためのレバーであ
る。現像器５を感光ドラム２側へ引き寄せ易くす
るためコイルバネ３１が設けられている。コイル
バネ３１は、装置本体に固定される現像器５の側
板５ａの内側に設けられたダボ５ｂと現像器５の
側壁に設けられたダボ５ｃに張設されている。こ
のコイルバネは上述した現像器５の重力による回
動を阻止しない程度の弾性力である。
以上のような構成であるから、現像器を感光ド
ラムから離間したとき、シヤツター２４が自重で
回動落下して感光ドラムの露出面を保護し現像器
交換時に感光ドラムを損傷することなく、かつ感
光ドラムに外光を与えることのないため光メモリ
ーを残すことのなくした安定した画像を得ること
ができる。
尚シヤツターの開放は手動でもできなく、現像
器を交換した後に感光ドラムに近接するように現
像器を回動すれば、その動作に応じて、開放する
ことは勿論である。
尚、単に感光ドラムの損傷防止には上記シヤツ
ターの材質、形状はなんら限定されない。不透明
材でシヤツターを形成すれば感光ドラムに光メモ
リーを発生させるのを防止することができる。
以上、本発明によれば、現像器の接離時に像担
持体の露出面をシヤツターで保護することができ
るので、現像器の交換或いは着脱に際して像担持
体の損傷を防止できる。さらに、本発明によれ
ば、プロセスキツトを装置外に取り出した状態で
も像担持体の露出面はシヤツターで保護されてい
るので、プロセスキツト内の像担持体が損傷する
虞はない。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １ 像担持体と、 この像担持体に作用する作用手段と、 別体に設けられた現像器を、現像位置に対応す
    る上記像担持体の表面に対し接離する動作に連動
    して、その現像位置に対応する上記像担持体の表
    面を覆う第一位置と該第一位置から退避した第二
    位置とを移動可能なシヤツターと、 像担持体、作用手段及びシヤツターとを支持す
    る筐体と、 を有することを特徴とする画像形成装置に着脱自
    在なプロセスキツト。 ２ 像担持体と、 この像担持体に作用する作用手段と、 現像位置に対応する上記像担持体の表面を覆う
    第一位置と該第一位置から退避した第二位置とを
    移動可能なシヤツターと、 像担持体、作用手段及びシヤツターとを支持す
    る筐体と、を有し装置本体に対し着脱自在なプロ
    セスキツトと、 移動可能な現像器と、 上記現像器を現像位置に対応する上記像担持体
    の表面に対し接離する時、この接離動作に連動し
    て上記シヤツターを移動させる手段と、 を有することを特徴とする画像形成装置。
