Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明はサーマルプリンタ、特にその印字ヘッドの温度
制御機構に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、この種のサーマルプリンタの印字ヘッドは抵抗体
に通電することにより、発熱を行う印字ヘッドを使用し
ていた。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上述した従来の熱転写プリンタの印字ヘッドは蓄熱の影
響を受けやすく、均一な品質の印字ができないという欠
点ある。
本発明の目的は前記課題を解決したサーマルプリンタの
印字ヘッドを提供することにある。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
前記目的を達成するため、本発明は画情報に応じて記録
面を選択的に加熱させるサーマルヘッドを有するサーマ
ルプリンタにおいて、印字ヘッドの発熱部を、Ｐ−Ｎ接
合によるペルチェ効果を有する素子にて構成したもので
ある。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の一実施例を図により説明する。
第１図は本発明の一実施例を示す構成図である。
図において、本発明はＰ型半導体１とＮ型半導体２との
Ｐ−Ｎ接合によるペルチェ効果を有する素子にて印字ヘ
ッドの発熱部を構成したものである。６は発熱部に備え
た放熱板である。第１図は１ドツト分の発熱体の構成を
示すものである。
実施例において、Ｐ型半導体１、Ｎ型半導体２により構
成された印字ヘッドの発熱部にライン３゜３を介して電
流を流すことにより、半導体１．２の接合面に加熱、冷
却の現象が発生する。
印字中は印字部接合面が加熱する方向に電流を流し、印
字後、逆方向の電流を流すことにより蓄熱を防ぐ、印字
ヘッドの発熱部が加熱されると、熱転写インクリボン４
の一部が溶融して用紙５に転写される。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明したように本発明はペルチェ効果を利用するこ
とにより均一な品質の印字を行うことができる効果があ
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）画情報に応じて記録面を選択的に加熱させるサー
    マルヘッドを有するサーマルプリンタにおいて、印字ヘ
    ッドの発熱部を、Ｐ−Ｎ接合によるペルチェ効果を有す
    る素子にて構成したことを特徴とするサーマルプリンタ
    の印字ヘッド。
