Claims (4)
- 複数のシリンダを有するエンジン本体と、前記複数のシリンダの排気側に接続された複数の排気管と、前記複数のシリンダの吸気側に位置する複数のスロットルバルブと、前記複数の排気管に接続された触媒装置と、前記複数のスロットルバルブの開閉動作を制御する制御部と、を備えたエンジンであって、
前記複数の排気管のうち一部の排気管が他の排気管よりも短く形成されており、
前記制御部は、エンジン始動時に前記複数の排気管が短い順に、当該複数の排気管の上流の前記複数のスロットルバルブを高速又は大きな開度で開弁することを特徴とするエンジン。 - 前記複数のシリンダは車両前後方向に離間した前側シリンダ及び後側シリンダであり、
前記一部の排気管は前記前側シリンダの排気側に接続された第1の排気管であり、
前記他の排気管は前記後側シリンダの排気側に接続された第2の排気管であり、
前記複数のスロットルバルブは前記前側シリンダの吸気側に位置する第1のスロットルバルブ及び前記後側シリンダの吸気側に位置する第2のスロットルバルブであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジン。 - 前記エンジン本体はクランク軸を収容したクランクケースを有し、
前記第1の排気管及び前記第2の排気管が前記触媒装置の上流の集合管で合流し、当該集合管が前記クランク軸の中心よりも車両後方、かつ前記第2の排気管の上流端よりも車両前方に位置していることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のエンジン。 - 請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のエンジンを搭載した車両。
