Claims (6)
- シートを搬送する搬送部と、
前記搬送部により搬送される前記シートに画像を形成する画像形成部と、
シート搬送方向に対し前記画像形成部の上流側に配置され、前記シートを読み取ることで形成された陰影画像データに基づき、前記シート搬送方向と直交するシート幅方向のエッジ位置を検出するシート検出センサーと、
前記シート検出センサーを有するセンサーユニットと、
前記シート検出センサーにより検出された前記エッジ位置と、前記シートが基準搬送位置で搬送される場合の前記エッジ位置との差に基づいて前記画像形成部による画像形成位置を調整する制御部と、
を備え、
前記シート検出センサーは、複数のセンサー部が所定の間隔で実装されたセンサーブロックが前記シート幅方向に複数個配列された構成であり、
前記制御部は、複数の前記センサーブロック間の境界部分における前記センサー部の間隔のばらつきに基づく前記陰影画像データにより検出した前記エッジ位置と実際の前記エッジ位置との誤差を埋めるための補間画素を、前記陰影画像データ中に挿入可能であり、
前記制御部は、前記陰影画像データにより検出した前記エッジ位置と実際の前記エッジ位置との誤差に基づいて、前記補間画素の画素数を調整することを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記センサーユニットは、前記シートを挟んで前記シート検出センサーと反対側に配置される光源部と、前記シート検出センサーと前記光源部との間に着脱可能に配置され、前記センサーブロックの境界部分に対向する複数の遮光部を有する遮光板と、を有し、
前記シート検出センサーは、前記光源部から出射される光を検出する光透過型センサーであり、
前記制御部は、前記遮光板を前記シート検出センサーと前記光源部との間に配置して前記光源部を点灯したとき前記遮光部によって遮光された画素数と、同一の前記センサーブロック内で前記遮光部によって遮光される画素数との差分を前記シート検出センサーの前記シート幅方向の中心から両端部に向かって累積し、累積画素数が1画素に到達する毎に前記補間画素を1画素ずつ挿入することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記制御部は、前記補間画素を所定の画素数だけ挿入した状態で前記シート検出センサーにより前記シートを読み取って前記陰影画像データを形成し、形成された前記陰影画像データを用いて前記シートの幅Lよりも大きい画像幅A′の基準画像の画像データから前記シートの幅方向外側領域に重なる部分を削除した画像幅A(A<A′)の第1補正画像を用いて画像形成を行い、前記第1補正画像を印字した前記シートに生じた余白が0となるときの前記補間画素の画素数を適正値とすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記制御部は、前記補間画素を所定の画素数だけ挿入した状態で前記シート検出センサーにより前記シートを読み取って前記陰影画像データを形成し、形成された前記陰影画像データを用いて前記シートの幅Lよりも大きい画像幅A′の基準画像の画像データから前記シートの幅方向外側領域に重なるデータを削除した画像幅A(A<A′)の画像データを、前記シートの幅Lよりも距離Bだけ小さくなるように短縮した第2補正画像を用いて画像形成を行い、前記第2補正画像を印字した前記シートに生じた余白がB/2となるときの前記補間画素の画素数を適正値とすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記シートの幅L、前記画像幅A′、前記距離Bが以下の式(1)を満たし、且つ、前記距離Bが1つの前記センサーブロック内の両端部の前記センサー部間の距離よりも小さい距離に設定されることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の画像形成装置。
B>A′-L ・・・(1) - 前記制御部は、前記補間画素の挿入画素数を変化させて前記シート検出センサーにより前記シートを読み取って前記陰影画像データを形成し、形成された複数の前記陰影画像データに基づく複数の前記第2補正画像を用いて1枚の前記シートに画像形成を行うことを特徴とする請求項4又は請求項5に記載の画像形成装置。
