Description
本発明の別の局面によれば、光学フィルム片の製造方法が提供される。この製造方法は、上記光学積層体から、光学フィルム片を製造する方法であって、該光学積層体にレーザー光を照射して、光学積層体片を切り出す工程と、該光学積層体片から、該保護シートを剥離する工程とを含む。
図1は、本発明の1つの実施形態による光学積層体の概略断面図である。この光学積層体100は、光学フィルム110と、光学フィルム110上に配置された保護シート120a、120bとを備える。保護シート120a、120bは、剥離可能に配置されている。保護シートは、光学フィルムの片側に配置されていてもよく、両側に配置されていてもよい。好ましくは、図示例のように、保護シート120a、120bは、光学フィルム110の両側に配置される。
上記保護シートの形成材料としては、例えば、ジアセチルセルロース、トリアセチルセルロース等のセルロース系樹脂、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、シクロオレフィン系樹脂、ポリプロピレン等のオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート系樹脂等のエステル系樹脂、ポリアミド系樹脂、ポリカーボネート系樹脂、これらの共重合体樹脂等が挙げられる。また、保護シートとして、メタクリル酸エステル、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN)、ポリアリレート、ポリスチレン(PS)、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン、ポリスルホン、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリイミド、ポリエーテルイミド等の樹脂からなるフィルムを用いてもよい。上記光学積層体が、光学フィルムの両側に保護シートを備える場合、2枚の保護シートは、それぞれ同じ材料から形成されていてもよく、異なる材料から形成されていてもよい。
上記光学フィルムとしては、任意の適切な光学フィルムが用いられ得る。1つの実施形態においては、上記のとおり、光学フィルムとして、偏光板と表面保護フィルムおよび/またはセパレーターとの積層体が用いられる。表面保護フィルムまたはセパレーターは、任意の適切な粘着剤を介して偏光板に剥離可能に積層される。
本発明の光学フィルム片の製造方法は、上記光学積層体にレーザー光照射して、光学積層体片を切り出す工程と、該光学積層体片から、該保護シートを剥離する工程とを含む。本発明の製造方法によれば、保護シートを備える光学積層体を、レーザー光照射による切り出し工程に供することにより、レーザー光照射により発生する煙等の光学フィルム(光学フィルム片)への付着を防止することができる。

Claims (1)
- 光学フィルムと、該光学フィルムの少なくとも片側に剥離可能に配置された保護シートとを備え、
該光学フィルムが、偏光板と、該偏光板と該保護シートとの間に配置された表面保護フィルムまたはセパレーターを備える光学フィルムであり、
該保護シートの該表面保護フィルムまたは該セパレーターに対する剥離力が、該表面保護フィルムまたは該セパレーターの該偏光板に対する剥離力よりも小さく、かつ、該保護シートの該表面保護フィルムまたは該セパレーターに対する23℃における剥離力が、0N/20mmを超えて2N/20mm以下であり、
該保護シートが、廃棄が予定されたシートである、
光学積層体。
