Description
本発明に係るチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末は非常に薄いモルファス状の炭酸バリウム被覆層を形成している。さらには、チタン酸バリウム粒子表層の第一番目のBa、或いは隣接するTiは構造欠陥を有している。即ち、チタン酸バリウム粒子表層の第一番目の正規のBaサイトにおけるBa2+イオンが存在しないサイトがある、または隣接するTiサイトに一部のTi4+イオンに代わって重元素のBa2+イオンが存在する、等である。これらの表面構造がチタン酸バリウム粒子からのBa2+イオン溶出を阻害し、結果として、水溶媒中安定なチタン酸バリウム粒子含有スラリーとなると推定している。得られる粒子粉末は、高容量のコンデンサー、又は高透過率の光学フィルムの原料として好適である。
芯粒子であるチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末は、特開2002−211926号公報、及び特開2005−289668号公報を参考にして、水熱法によって作製した。水酸化バリウム八水塩(関東化学(株)製、97%Ba(OH)2・8H2O試薬特級)と塩化チタン水溶液を原料として用いた。温水に溶かした水酸化バリウム八水塩を濾別して、不純物の炭酸バリウムを除去した。窒素雰囲気で、塩化チタンを水酸化バリウムで中和し、チタンコロイドを得た。得られたチタンコロイドと残りの水酸化バリウムを各々混合し、撹拌した。ここで、反応温度70℃でチタン酸バリウム粒子を生成させた。220℃、7時間保持して水熱反応を行い、チタン酸バリウム粒子の結晶性を高め、その後、冷却した。
実施例1における芯粒子を用いた。即ち、実施例1の第一工程で得られたチタン酸バリウム含有スラリーをスラリードライヤ―にて乾燥し、チタン酸バリウム粒子粉末を得た。表2に粉体特性を示す。
実施例1に対し、芯粒子作製の水熱条件の反応温度を220℃から230℃と変更する以外、すべて同じ条件で作製した。
実施例1に対し、芯粒子作製の水熱条件の反応温度を220℃から240℃と変更する以外、すべて同じ条件で作製した。
実施例1に対し、水熱処理を除いて得られる粒子を芯粒子とし、第一工程でBa2+イオン濃度を350ppmとした。第二工程で用いたNa2CO3をチタン酸バリウム粒子に対し0.7重量部とし、保持時間を90時間とした。それ以外は実施例1と同様の操作を行い、チタン酸バリウム粒子粉末を得た。
実施例2〜4の芯粒子、即ち、本発明4記載の炭酸バリウム被覆処理を行っていない、チタン酸バリウム粒子粉末を試料として用いた。但し、比較例2と3は、実施例2と3の第一工程のスラリーをスラリードライヤーで乾燥し、比較例4は実施例4の第一工程のスラリーを濾別後、ケーキを乾燥、粉砕して、粒子粉末を得た。実施例2と比較例2のBa/Ti組成比、及び、実施例3と比較例3のBa/Ti組成比は誤差範囲内で一致した。実施例2と3は炭酸バリウム被覆が十分であることが推定できる。一方、濾別の影響のため、実施例4に比べ、比較例4のBa/Ti組成比は幾分低下した。実施例4と比較例4は共に25nm程度と一次粒子径が小さいが、X線回折では、実施例4のみ単独炭酸バリウム粒子が僅かに検出できる程度であり、チタン酸バリウムがほぼ単一相であった。即ち、実施例4と比較例4は、共に、結晶性の良い試料であった。実施例1と同様なSTEM−BF像の解析を実施例2〜4の試料に適応することで、アモルファス状の炭酸バリウム被覆層を形成するチタン酸バリウム粒子であることが確認できた。
実施例4に対し、第二工程で用いたNa2CO3をチタン酸バリウム粒子に対し1.2重量部とした以外、すべて、実施例4と同様の操作を行い、実施例5の試料とした。また、同様に、Na2CO3をチタン酸バリウム粒子に対し1.5重量部とした以外、すべて、実施例4と同様の操作を行い、実施例6の試料とした。
Claims (4)
- 平均一次粒子径が10〜300nmのチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末において、アモルファス状の炭酸バリウム被覆層の平均層厚が0.08〜2.0nmであるチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法であって、
水溶媒中チタン酸バリウム粒子の濃度を5〜60重量%及びBa 2+ イオン濃度を10〜500ppmに調整する第一工程、温度30〜60℃で3〜96時間保持によりチタン酸バリウム粒子から抽出したBa 2+ イオンとNa 2 CO 3 又はK 2 CO 3 と反応させてチタン酸バリウム粒子表面をアモルファス状の炭酸バリウムで被覆させる第二工程、前記工程で生成した水可溶性Na + イオン又はK + イオンを水洗で除去する第三工程を含むことを特徴とするチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法。 - 走査型透過電子顕微鏡観察の明視野像において、チタン酸バリウム粒子表層から第一番目のBaの原子カラムカウント数に対して隣接するTiの原子カラムカウント数の比が1.00以上である請求項1記載のチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法。
- 単独で存在する炭酸バリウム粒子が0.03〜2.0重量%である請求項1又は2記載のチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法。
- 前記チタン酸バリウム粒子粉末を含む水溶媒中の煮沸後の可溶性Baの濃度が、10〜800ppmである請求項1〜3の少なくとも一項に記載のチタン酸バリウム粒子粉末の製造方法。
