Description
上記で表されるように、本発明のSiOC複合材料は、「SiOCマトリックス」とも呼ばれる、式SiOCの非晶質シリコンオキシカーバイド・ネットワークから全体的又は部分的に形成される微粒子からなり、SiOCマトリックスの総重量に基づきSiは20重量%から60重量%の範囲であり、Oは20重量%から40重量%の範囲であり、Cは10重量%から50重量%の範囲であり、非晶質又は結晶化シリコン粒子は前記SiOCマトリックスの中に埋め込まれ、前記微粒子は、前記非晶質SiOCマトリックスで形成され、かつ少なくとも1種の非晶質炭素層でコーティングされたコアを有するコア/コーティング構造を有する。
他の態様において、本発明は、少なくとも下記の工程をこの順に含む、特に上記の粒子性SiOC複合材料の製造方法であって;
本発明による上述のSiOC複合材料は、電極を形成するための電極活物質として用いることができる。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製
28.850gの非晶質フェニル架橋ポリシルセスキオキサン化合物と、6.053gの結晶化シリコンの試料とを一緒にボウルに入れ、150rpmの速度で1時間ミリングした。
元素分析
得られた粉末のシリコン含有量を、誘導結合プラズマ(ICP)発光分光分析法で測定する。高周波誘導電気における燃焼の後、炭素含有量を赤外吸収法で測定する。酸素含有量を、非分散赤外線検出器による一酸化炭素及び二酸化炭素として測定する。
走査電子顕微鏡(SEM)(図1)による粉末の観察は、粒子が球形であることを示す。
レーザー回折測定により得られた粒子サイズの分布を、図2で表す。得られた粉末は、約10〜20μmの平均粒径を有する。
粉末を透過型電子顕微鏡検査(TEM)により分析し、TEMにおいてエネルギー分散X線分光法(EDX)測定から得られた要素マッピングは、粒子の表面上の炭素層の存在を示す。
得られた粉末の窒素吸着等温線を図3に示す。これは、IUPACによるとTYPE IIIに分類される。
得られた粉末のX線回折パターンを、図4で示す。X線回折パターンは、SiOC非晶質マトリックスで捕捉されているシリコン粒子由来の最終的な粉末における立方晶シリコン相を表す。
窒素吸着法で測定される、得られた粉末のBET比表面積は、18m2/gである。
10gのフェニル架橋ポリシルセスキオキサン化合物の試料を、アルゴン雰囲気下で1時間、1,000℃で熱分解した。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製
28.850gの非晶質フェニル架橋ポリシルセスキオキサン化合物の試料と、6.053gの結晶化シリコンとを、ボウルに一緒に入れ、150rpmの速度で、1時間ミリングした。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製
非晶質メチル/フェニル(4/1)架橋ポリシルセスキオキサン化合物の試料10.070gと、1.688gの結晶化シリコンと、20mLのアセトンとを、一緒にボウルに入れ、200rpmの速度で1時間ミリングした。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製
8gの非晶質メチル/フェニル(4/1)架橋ポリシルセスキオキサン化合物の試料を、アセトン溶液200mLに入れた。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製
PhSi(OMe)3及びMeSi(OMe)3の両方を、メタノールで溶解した。その後、必要な量の結晶化シリコンを、前記混合物に加えた。得られた溶液を、室温で数分間撹拌した。その後、必要な量の塩酸を加え、溶液を60℃で数分間撹拌した。
電極活物質としての材料の使用
例1〜3について、得られた材料と、結合剤として使用するカルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)と、導電剤として使用する気相法炭素繊維(VGCF)とを含むスラリーを、12μmの銅箔にコーティングし電極として使用した。
図5は、例1において得られたSiOC材料によって製造される電池の最初の2回の充電−放電サイクル(0.01と1.2Vとの間のC/10のCレートで直流定電流測定値から得られる)の間の電圧プロファイルを示す。
本発明によるSiOC複合材料の調製及び電極活物質としての用途
PhSi(OMe)3及びMeSi(OMe)3の両方をメタノールに溶解した。その後、必要な量の結晶化シリコンを、前記混合物に加えた。得られた溶液を、室温で、数分間撹拌した。その後、必要な量の塩酸を加え、溶液を60℃で数分間撹拌した。

Claims (21)
- 微粒子形態のSiOC複合材料であって、
前記微粒子が、前記SiOCマトリックスの総重量に基づき20重量%から60重量%の範囲のSiと、20重量%から40重量%の範囲のOと、10重量%から50重量%の範囲のCとを有する非晶質SiOCマトリックスで全体的又は部分的に形成され、非晶質又は結晶化シリコン粒子が前記SiOCマトリックスの中に埋め込まれ、前記微粒子が、前記非晶質SiOCマトリックスで形成され、かつ少なくとも1種の非晶質炭素層でコーティングされたコアを有するコア/コーティング構造を有する、SiOC複合材料。 - 微粒子が1μmから100μmの範囲の平均粒径を有する、請求項1に記載のSiOC複合材料。
- 1m2/gから100m2/gの範囲のブルナウアー・エメット・テラー比表面積を有する、請求項1又は2に記載のSiOC複合材料。
- 前記微粒子が球形を有する、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載のSiOC複合材料。
- 窒素の吸着等温線がIUPACで指定されるTYPE IIIに分類される、請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載のSiOC複合材料。
- 結晶化シリコン粒子が前記SiOCマトリックスの中に埋め込まれ、結晶化シリコンが立方晶構造を有する、請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載のSiOC複合材料。
- 少なくとも下記の工程をこの順に含む、微粒子形態のSiOC複合材料の製造方法;
(i)非晶質又は結晶化シリコン粒子との混和物の状態で、少なくとも1種のシリコン含有ポリマーからなる生成物を提供する工程、
(ii)工程(i)の生成物を熱分解し、SiOCマトリックスの総重量に基づき、20重量%から60重量%の範囲のSiと、20重量%から40重量%の範囲のOと、10重量%から50重量%の範囲のCとを有する非晶質SiOCを得る工程であって、非晶質又は結晶化シリコン粒子が前記SiOCマトリックスの中に埋め込まれる工程、
(iii)工程(ii)において得られた熱分解生成物を1μmから100のμmの範囲の平均粒径を有する粉末形態に加工する工程、及び
(iv)工程(iii)において得られた粉末の粒子表面に非晶質炭素コーティングを形成し、コア/コーティング構造の所望のSiOC複合材料を得る工程。 - 前記シリコン含有ポリマーがポリシルセスキオキサンである、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記非晶質又は結晶化シリコン粒子が2nmから2μmの範囲の平均サイズを有する、請求項7又は8に記載の方法。
- 工程(i)の生成物が、少なくとも1つの固体状態のシリコン含有ポリマーと結晶化又は非晶質シリコン粉末とを混合することにより、調製される、請求項7乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(i)の生成物が、結晶化又は非晶質シリコン粉末を、溶媒に溶解したシリコン含有ポリマーに加え、その後溶媒をスプレー乾燥させる又は溶媒を蒸発させることにより調製される、請求項7乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(i)の生成物が、結晶化又は非晶質シリコン粉末の存在下で、シリコン含有ポリマーをゾル−ゲル法で合成することにより調製される、請求項7乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(ii)において生成物は、1℃/分から30℃/分の範囲の速度で、600℃から1,400℃の範囲まで加熱することにより熱分解され、とりわけ最終温度の加熱時間は5分から10時間の範囲である、請求項7乃至12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 工程(iv)において炭素コーティングが、
(a)シリコン原子を含まず、熱分解処理中に、炭素に変換できる少なくとも1つの有機炭素前駆体で粒子をコーティングすること、そして次に、
(b)前記コーティング粒子を熱分解して炭素コーティングを得ること、
により、形成される、請求項7乃至13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。 - 前記炭素前駆体は、二フッ化ポリビニリデン、ショ糖、塩素化ポリエチレン、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリエチレン、フェノール樹脂、酸化ポリエチレン、ピッチ、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリスチレン、カルボキシメチルセルロース又はそれらの塩、アルギン酸、ナトリウム又はカリウム塩を含むシュウ酸、ポリアクリル酸又はそれらの塩、ポリアクリロニトリル、及び、ポリフッ化ビニルから選択され、好ましくは、前記炭素前駆体はポリビニルアルコールである、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 電極活物質としての、請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載される、SiOC複合材料の使用。
- 少なくとも請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載される、SiOC複合材料を含む電極活物質。
- 請求項17に記載の電極活物質を含む、電極。
- 負極である、請求項18に記載の電極。
- 請求項18又は19に記載の電極を備える、電池。
- リチウムイオン電池である、請求項20に記載の電池。
