Claims (29)
- 短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内の局(STA)の位置特定を円滑にするためのアプライアンスであって、
無線周波数(RF)インターフェースと、
前記RFインターフェースに結合されたメディアアクセス制御(MAC)セクションとを備え、
前記MACセクションが、
前記STAからの測定関連通信を求める要求を、前記RFインターフェースを介して受信し、
前記要求の要求タイプおよび前記アプライアンスに関連付けられた識別子に基づいて前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求を認識し、
受信した前記要求に対する自動応答を生成し、前記アプライアンスと、前記短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内のアプライアンスに類似する他のアプライアンスとの間で一様であるように確立された一様な期間の直後に、前記RFインターフェースを介して、前記自動応答を前記STAに送信し、
前記自動応答の前記生成のみを実施する
ように構成される、アプライアンス。 - 前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求が、ラウンドトリップタイム(RTT)測定関連通信を求める要求を含み、前記自動応答が前記RTT測定関連通信を形成する、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記MACセクションがハードウェアMACセクションを含む、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記RFインターフェースが、送信帯域周波数をデジタルベースバンド周波数にコンバートするように構成された周波数コンバージョンセクションを含む、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記送信帯域周波数が802.11送信帯域を含む、請求項4に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記RFインターフェースが、デジタルベースバンド周波数を送信帯域周波数にコンバートするように構成された周波数コンバージョンセクションを含む、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記送信帯域周波数が802.11送信帯域を含む、請求項6に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記応答が、追加ロケーション情報を含む、リソースに関連付けられた統一リソース識別子(URI)を含む、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記応答が位置特定基準を含む、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記位置特定基準が、前記アプライアンスのロケーションに関連付けられた(x,y)座標ペアを含み、前記応答が前記(x,y)座標ペアを含む、請求項9に記載のアプライアンス。
- 前記応答が、前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求の確認応答(ACK)を含み、前記ACKが前記測定関連通信を形成する、請求項1に記載のアプライアンス。
- 短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内で位置特定を行うための装置であって、
測定関連通信を求める、局(STA)からの要求を受信し、前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求への自動応答を送信するためのトランシーバ手段と、
前記トランシーバ手段に結合されたメディアアクセス制御(MAC)手段とを備え、前記MAC手段が、
前記装置および前記要求の要求タイプに関連付けられた識別子に基づいて認識される、前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求を認識し、
前記トランシーバ手段に、前記要求の認識に関連付けられた一様な期間の直後に前記自動応答を送信させるためのものであり、前記一様な期間が、前記装置において、および前記ネットワーク内の前記装置に類似する他のどの装置においても一様であり、前記トランシーバ手段が、前記自動応答のみを生成する装置。 - 前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求が、ラウンドトリップタイム(RTT)測定関連通信を求める要求を含む、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記トランシーバ手段がさらに、802.11送信帯域上で送信するため、および受信するための少なくとも一方である、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記自動応答が、追加ロケーション情報を含む、リソースに関連付けられた統一リソース識別子(URI)を含む、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記MAC手段がさらに、前記トランシーバ手段に、ロケーション情報を含む、リソースに関連付けられた統一リソース識別子(URI)をビーコンメッセージに入れて送信させるためのものである、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記MAC手段がさらに、前記トランシーバ手段に、前記装置のロケーションに関連付けられた(x,y)座標ペアをビーコンメッセージに入れて送信させるためのものである、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記自動応答が、前記装置のロケーションに関連付けられた(x,y)座標ペアを含む、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記自動応答が、前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求の確認応答(ACK)フレームを含み、前記ACKフレームが前記測定関連通信を形成する、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 前記自動応答がビーコンフレームを含み、前記MAC手段がさらに、前記ビーコンフレームを使ってキャリア検知機構およびバックオフ機構の一方を実装するためのものである、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内で位置特定を行うための方法であって、
前記短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内の複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスでの測定関連通信を求める、局(STA)からの要求を受信するステップと、
前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスでの前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求を、前記要求の要求タイプおよび前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスに関連付けられた識別子に基づいて認識するステップと、
前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスそれぞれに関連付けられた一様な処理遅延の後、前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスにおいて自動応答を直ちに送信するステップと、
前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスのうち対応するアプライアンスからの、前記自動応答のうちそれぞれの応答の異なる到着時間に基づいて、前記STAを位置特定するステップとを含む方法。 - 前記STAの前記位置特定が、前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスのうち対応する3つからの異なる3つの到着時間を使って前記STAを三辺測量するステップを含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記自動応答が、追加ロケーション情報を含む、リソースに関連付けられた統一リソース識別子(URI)を含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記自動応答が、前記複数の専用ネットワークアプライアンスのうち前記対応するもののロケーションに関連付けられた(x,y)座標ペアを含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記自動応答が、前記測定関連通信を求める前記要求の確認応答(ACK)を含み、前記ACKが前記測定関連通信を形成する、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内で位置特定を行うための命令を記録するコンピュータ可読記録媒体であって、前記命令が、装置内の処理ユニットによって読み取られ実行されると、動作を実施し、前記命令が、
前記短距離ワイヤレスネットワーク内での測定関連通信を求める要求への自動応答を与えるためのコードと、
測定関連通信を求める、局(STA)からの要求を、前記要求の要求タイプおよび前記装置に関連付けられた識別子に基づいて認識するためのコードと、
前記要求および前記自動応答の処理のための一様な遅延の直後に、前記測定関連通信を求める受信した前記要求への自動応答を送信するためのコードであって、前記一様な遅延が、前記自動応答を与えることが可能な前記ネットワーク内の装置に類似するどの装置の間でも一様であるコードと、
前記自動応答の生成のみを実施するためのコードとを含むコンピュータ可読記録媒体。 - 前記命令が、統一リソース識別子(URI)を前記自動応答とともに含めるためのコードをさらに含み、前記URIが、追加ロケーション情報を含むリソースに関連付けられた、請求項26に記載のコンピュータ可読記録媒体。
- 前記自動応答が、前記自動応答を与えることが可能な、前記ネットワーク内の対応する要素のロケーションに関連付けられた(x,y)座標ペアを含む、請求項26に記載のコンピュータ可読記録媒体。
