Description
例えば所定の位置に所定の大きさの穴を打ち抜いくことで、プラスチックフレームの適切な位置における所定の部分を除去することにより、そのような構造を形成可能である。このような構造により、空気などの捕捉ガスをすべて逃がすことができるので、接着剤はより均一に分散され、その結果、ガラス層とプラスチックフレームとはより強力且つ確実に接合されることになる。
Claims (15)
- 携帯電子装置であって、
長さ及び幅を有する前面開口を有する継ぎ目のない筐体であって、底壁と、前記前面開口と協働する空洞を前記底壁と協働して形成する一体的に形成された複数の壁とを備え、前記一体的に形成された複数の壁が前記前面開口を取り囲み規定する上端縁部を定義する、継ぎ目のない筐体と、
前記継ぎ目のない筐体の前記一体的に形成された複数の壁の1つの内側表面に取り付けられた第1のフレーム部材と、
前記前面開口内に配設され、前記前面開口を覆う、ディスプレイと、透明保護カバーとを備えるディスプレイ・アセンブリと、
前記第1のフレーム部材とは分離され、前記透明保護カバーの内側に面する表面に取り付けられた第2のフレーム部材と、
を備え、
前記透明保護カバーが前記継ぎ目のない筐体の前記前面開口内の中央に固定され、前記上端縁部と共通の境界を共有するように、前記第1のフレーム部材が前記第2のフレーム部材を保持し、
前記第1のフレーム部材と前記第2のフレーム部材とは前記継ぎ目のない筐体の前記空洞内に完全に封入されている、携帯電子装置。 - 前記透明保護カバーは、
前記前面開口に対応する大きさと形状とを有する透明材料層と、
前記透明材料層を前記前面開口内で中心に位置させ、前記継ぎ目のない筐体と直接に接触する、前記透明材料層を取り囲む環境シールと
を更に備える、請求項1に記載の携帯電子装置。 - 前記複数の壁の少なくとも1つは前記空洞内にアンダーカットを形成する、請求項1に記載の携帯電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない筐体及び前記第1のフレーム部材の両方は金属製である、請求項1に記載の携帯電子装置。
- 前記第2のフレーム部材はプラスティック製である、請求項4に記載の携帯電子装置。
- 前記透明保護カバーは前記ディスプレイ・アセンブリを覆う、請求項1に記載の携帯電子装置。
- 携帯コンピューティング装置であって、
底壁と側壁とを備え、前記側壁は空洞に通じる前面開口を規定するように協働し、前記前面開口は長さ及び幅を有し、前記側壁は前記空洞内のアンダーカットを規定する凹型側面を形成する継ぎ目のない筐体要素と、
完全に前記空洞内に配置され、前記継ぎ目のない筐体要素の内側表面と結合した保持部材と、
前記空洞内に配置され、前記継ぎ目のない筐体要素の前記空洞内に完全に封入されたフレーム部材を用いて前記保持部材と結合したディスプレイ・アセンブリと
を備え、
前記ディスプレイ・アセンブリが、
前記継ぎ目のない筐体要素により規定される前記前面開口内の中心に位置決めされ、外寸長と外寸幅とが前記前面開口の前記長さ及び前記幅よりも小さいディスプレイ・カバーと、
前記ディスプレイ・カバーの周辺エッジを取り囲み、前記継ぎ目のない筐体要素の側壁と前記ディスプレイ・カバーとの間のシールを形成する環境シールと
を備える、携帯コンピューティング装置。 - 前記フレーム部材は、前記ディスプレイ・カバーの内側に面する表面から延び、前記ディスプレイ・アセンブリを前記保持部材と結合するために前記保持部材と相互に作用する、請求項7に記載の携帯コンピューティング装置。
- 前記ディスプレイ・アセンブリが前記保持部材と結合される一方で、前記保持部材は前記空洞の前記アンダーカットに延びている、請求項8に記載の携帯コンピューティング装置。
- 前記ディスプレイ・アセンブリは、前記ディスプレイ・カバーと前記保持部材との間に配置されたディスプレイを更に備える、請求項7に記載の携帯コンピューティング装置。
- ハンドヘルド電子装置の組み立て方法であって、
前面開口を有する継ぎ目のない筐体(100)の少なくとも1つの壁の内側表面に第1のフレーム部材(302)を取り付ける工程であって、前記継ぎ目のない筐体(100)は、前記前面開口と協働する空洞(124)を協働して形成する複数の壁(121)と底壁とを備え、前記複数の壁が前記前面開口を取り囲み規定する上端縁部を定義する、工程と、
前記前面開口において前記空洞内に透明保護カバー(106)を配置する工程であって、前記透明保護カバーは、該透明保護カバー(106)の内側表面に取り付けられた第2のフレーム部材(406)を備える、工程と
を有し、
前記透明保護カバー(106)が前記継ぎ目のない筐体(100)の前記前面開口内の中央に固定され、前記上端縁部と共通の境界を共有するように、前記第1のフレーム部材(302)が前記第2のフレーム部材(406)を保持し、
前記第1のフレーム部材と前記第2のフレーム部材とは前記継ぎ目のない筐体の前記空洞内に完全に封入されている、方法。 - 前記第1のフレーム部材は、前記複数の壁のうちの1つの内側表面に取り付けられた取り付けブラケットを備える、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの取り付けブラケット基準バンプを前記取り付けブラケット上に形成する工程を更に有し、
前記基準バンプは、前記継ぎ目のない筐体内に固着された電子アセンブリとレーストラックとの間のZ高さ許容差を減少するように構成され、前記レーストラックは前記継ぎ目のない筐体の最上部の平坦な部分である、請求項12に記載の方法。 - 前記固着された電子アセンブリと前記レーストラックとの間の前記Z高さ許容差は、単一の機器構成による単一の加工作業で前記少なくとも1つの取り付けブラケット基準バンプ及び前記レーストラックを形成することにより減少されることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記透明保護カバーは、
前記前面開口に対応する大きさと形状とを有する透明材料層と、
前記透明材料層を前記前面開口内の中心に位置させ、前記継ぎ目のない筐体と直接に接触する、前記透明材料層を取り囲む環境シールと
を更に備える、請求項11に記載の方法。
