Claims (8)
- 電子機器を製造する方法であって、
薄膜トランジスタを第1ガラス基板上に成膜するステップ、
前記第1ガラス基板を第2ガラス基板に、該第1ガラス基板と該第2ガラス基板との間に間隙が存在しているガラス基板アセンブリを形成するように、結合させるステップ、
前記ガラス基板アセンブリを酸水溶液に、10分を超えない時間だけ接触させるステップ、
液晶材料を前記間隙に注入するステップ、
前記第1および第2ガラス基板の少なくとも一方に偏光フィルムを貼り付ける前に、当該第1および第2ガラス基板の少なくとも一方に高分子フィルムを貼り付けるステップ、
とを含み、
ここで、前記接触させるステップは、前記結合させるステップ後であるが前記注入するステップの前に行われ、且つ、前記第1ガラス基板および前記第2ガラス基板の夫々から、20μm以下の深さまでガラスを除去するものであることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記接触させるステップが、5分を超えない時間だけ行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記接触させるステップの前に、前記第1ガラス基板または前記第2ガラス基板の少なくとも一方から少なくとも100μmのある深さまでガラスを除去するエッチャントに、前記ガラス基板アセンブリを露出して前記ガラス基板アセンブリを薄化し、さらに次いで該ガラス基板アセンブリを洗浄することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記薄化の前の、前記第1ガラス基板または前記第2ガラス基板のいずれか一方または両方の厚さが、500μmを超えないことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス基板アセンブリがマスターガラス基板アセンブリであり、該マスターガラス基板アセンブリを複数の個々のガラス基板アセンブリに分離するステップをさらに含み、かつ前記接触させるステップが、該分離するステップの後に行われることを特徴とする請求項1から4いずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第1ガラス基板または前記第2ガラス基板の少なくとも一方が、Na2O、K2O、およびLi2Oから成る群から選択されるアルカリ金属酸化物を、総濃度で5重量%以下含んでいる、アルカリ土類ホウアルミノケイ酸ガラスを含むことを特徴とする請求項1から5いずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記酸水溶液がHFとHClとを含み、かつ前記HFのモル濃度が1.5M(1.5mol/L)から4M(4mol/L)までの範囲内であり、さらに前記HClのモル濃度が4.0M(4.0mol/L)から7.0M(7.0mol/L)までの範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1から6いずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第1ガラス基板または前記第2ガラス基板のいずれか一方または両方が、表面圧縮層と中心引張応力とを実質的に含んでいないことを特徴とする請求項1から7いずれか1項記載の方法。
