Description
上記の制御により、ランプ電流Iが制限電流を超えない範囲でランプの電力Pが規定電力になるよう、最適な電圧Vが放電ランプ21に自動的に印加される。

低下率ΔLはランプ電圧V、及びランプ使用時間Tにより直線的に増加する傾向があるため、式(1)により好適に推定できる。ここで、係数a,b,c,T0は、ランプの種類により予め決めた係数(劣化特性データ)である。上述の通りこれらの係数は予めメモリ(ROM81、RAM82)に保存しておけばよい。

この場合には、ランプ電圧Vのみを検出すればよいので制御が簡便になるという効果がある。

式(2)において、T1、T2、T3はそれぞれ発光量の異なる3種類の状態でランプを使用したランプ使用時間である。w1、w2、w3は上記3種類の状態におけるランプの発光量を考慮した重み付け係数である。発光量の異なる使用状態がさらにあれば、w3×T3以降にもランプ使用時間と重み付け係数の種類を増やして積算すればよい。
図7は、ランプ装着時のアラームメッセージ表示の例を示す図である。
(a)は第2マイコン22との通信ができない場合のメッセージ表示である。すなわち、何らかの原因で制御部8と第2マイコン22の間で通信が不能の場合、放電ランプ21の性能データを取得できず、照度劣化の計算と画像補正が不可能になる。そのような場合、制御部8は表示画面70に「画像補正処理を実行できません」等のメッセージ71を表示する。ユーザはこれを契機として、第2マイコン22の点検やランプブロック2の交換を行うことができる。

Claims (5)
- 放電ランプを光源とする投写型映像表示装置において、
前記放電ランプを駆動するランプ駆動部と、
前記放電ランプの電極間電圧(以下、ランプ電圧)を検出するランプ電圧検出部と、
前記放電ランプの累積点灯時間(以下、ランプ使用時間)を管理する点灯時間管理部と、
映像表示素子に供給する映像信号の画質補正を行う画像補正処理部と、
前記ランプ電圧検出部にて検出したランプ電圧と、前記点灯時間管理部から取得したランプ使用時間に基づいて、前記画像補正処理部の補正量を制御する制御部と、
を備えることを特徴とする投写型映像表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の投写型映像表示装置において、
前記放電ランプの照度低下を計算するための劣化特性データを保存したメモリを有し、
前記制御部は、前記メモリに保存された劣化特性データを用いて前記ランプ電圧と前記ランプ使用時間から前記放電ランプの照度低下率を計算し、該照度低下率に応じて前記画像補正処理部の補正量を制御することを特徴とする投写型映像表示装置。 - 請求項1に記載の投写型映像表示装置において、
前記放電ランプが収納されるランプブロックには、当該放電ランプ固有の劣化特性データを保存するとともに前記制御部と通信可能なマイコンが含まれており、
前記制御部は、前記マイコンから通信により取得した前記放電ランプ固有の劣化特性データを用いて、前記ランプ電圧と前記ランプ使用時間から前記放電ランプの照度低下率を計算し、該照度低下率に応じて前記画像補正処理部の補正量を制御することを特徴とする投写型映像表示装置。 - 請求項3に記載の投写型映像表示装置において、
前記制御部は前記マイコンとの間で通信が不能である場合、前記画像補正処理部による補正処理が実行できない旨のメッセージを表示画面に表示することを特徴とする投写型映像表示装置。 - 請求項3に記載の投写型映像表示装置において、
前記マイコンには、前記ランプブロックに収納されている前記放電ランプの識別情報が保存されており、
前記制御部は、前記マイコンから取得した前記放電ランプの識別情報が登録されている情報と異なる場合、当該放電ランプが適合しない旨のメッセージを表示画面に表示することを特徴とする投写型映像表示装置。
