Description
(1)多重反射素子3のアスペクト比がDMD10のアスペクト比よりも大きい点である。即ち、多重反射素子3の射出面のX軸方向の長さをC’、Y軸方向の長さをD’、DMD10のX軸方向の長さをE、Y軸方向の長さをFとすると、C’/D’>E/Fを満たす。又、多重反射素子3の射出面の面積C’×D’を、図2における多重反射素子13の射出面の面積C×Dと同等以上にすれば、多重反射素子3の射出面での光密度は、図2の同等以下となり、多重反射素子3の硝子又は蒸着膜が劣化することはない。こうして、多重反射素子3内で複数回反射した光線は、多重反射素子3の射出面でDMD10のアスペクト比より大きなアスペクト比で出射する。
(2)リレーレンズ5とリレーレンズ8の間に、シリンドリカルレンズ6及びシリンドリカルレンズ7が配置されている点である。リレーレンズ5は、多重反射素子3から射出した光の発散を防ぐため、当該光をシリンドリカルレンズ6に集光する。シリンドリカルレンズ6とシリンドリカルレンズ7は、多重反射素子3の射出面で均一になった光分布をX軸方向及びY軸方向にそれぞれDMD10面上に拡大し、パネルアスペクト比にする。

Claims (5)
- 光源と、
照明光学系と、
外部からの入力信号に応じて、前記光源からの光を変調する映像表示素子と、
前記映像表示素子が変調した光を投写する投写光学系と、を備え、
前記照明光学系は、
前記光源からの光の分布を均一にする多重反射素子と、
前記多重反射素子からの光の色を分解するカラーホイールと、
前記カラーホイールからの光を拡大するレンズと、を備え、
前記多重反射素子の射出面のアスペクト比は、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比より大きく、
前記光の進行方向に垂直な面上の直交する2軸を、それぞれ、X軸、Y軸と定義すると、
前記レンズのX軸方向の曲率半径とY軸方向の曲率半径は異なり、前記レンズは、前記カラーホイールからの光を垂直方向及び水平方向に拡大させて、前記映像表示素子の寸法に合わせる、投写型映像表示装置。 - 前記多重反射素子の射出面のアスペクト比は、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が4/3の場合1.99以上であり、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が16/10の場合2.38以上であり、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が16/9の場合2.65以上である、請求項1記載の投写型映像表示装置。
- 前記レンズはシリンドリカルレンズ、又は、トロイダルレンズである、請求項1又は2記載の投写型映像表示装置。
- 光源と、
照明光学系と、
外部からの入力信号に応じて、前記光源からの光を変調する映像表示素子と、
前記映像表示素子が変調した光を投写する投写光学系と、を備え、
前記照明光学系は、
前記光源からの光の分布を均一にする多重反射素子と、
前記多重反射素子からの光の色を分解するカラーホイールと、
前記カラーホイールからの光を拡大するレンズと、を備え、
前記光の進行方向に垂直な面上の直交する2軸を、それぞれ、X軸、Y軸と定義すると、
前記レンズのX軸方向の曲率半径とY軸方向の曲率半径は異なり、前記レンズは、前記カラーホイールからの光を垂直方向及び水平方向に拡大させて、前記映像表示素子の寸法に合わせ、
前記多重反射素子の射出面のアスペクト比は、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が4/3の場合1.99以上であり、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が16/10の場合2.38以上であり、前記映像表示素子のアスペクト比が16/9の場合2.65以上である、投写型映像表示装置。 - 前記レンズはシリンドリカルレンズ、又は、トロイダルレンズである、請求項4記載の投写型映像表示装置。
