Description
本発明は、(a)Siスラリーと、高分子モノマーと、架橋剤と、を含むSi‐高分子マトリックススラリーを準備する段階と、(b)Si‐高分子マトリックススラリーに対して熱処理工程を行って、Si‐高分子炭化マトリックスを製造する段階と、(c)前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックスを粉砕して、Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子を製造する段階と、(d)前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子と第1炭素原料を混合した後、炭化工程を行う段階と、を含む炭素‐シリコン複合体の製造方法を提供する。
なお、本発明は、Siスラリーと、高分子モノマーと、架橋剤と、を含むSi‐高分子マトリックススラリーから形成されたSi‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子と、第1炭素マトリックスと、を含み、前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子は、前記第1炭素マトリックス内に捕捉されて分散されることを特徴とする炭素‐シリコン複合体を提供する。
本発明は、前記炭素‐シリコン複合体と、導電材と、結合材と、増粘剤と、を含む負極スラリーを負極集電体にコーティングしてなる二次電池用負極を提供する。
本発明は、前記二次電池用負極を含む二次電池を提供する。
(実施例1)
(Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子の製造)
平均粒径が50nmであるSi粒子1gをN‐メチル‐2‐ピロリドン(NMP)分散媒9gに分散させて、Siスラリーを準備した。準備したSiスラリーに、アクリル酸5g、エチレングリコールジメタクリレート1g、1,1´‐アゾビス(シクロヘキサンカルボニトリル)0.5gを添加した後、70℃の温度で12時間攪拌して、Si‐高分子マトリックススラリーを準備した。
前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子に350℃で蒸発された石炭系ピッチを粒子状で約12時間混合した。石炭系ピッチ:Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子を97.5:2.5の重量比で混合した。次に、10℃/minで昇温して900℃の温度で5時間炭化を行って、炭素‐シリコン複合体を形成した。形成された炭素‐シリコン複合体を250rpmで1時間プラネタリーミルを用いて粉砕した後、分級過程を経て50μm以下の粒径を有する粒子のみを選別した粉末を得た。
前記炭素‐シリコン複合体粉末を負極活物質として使用し、負極活物質:カーボンブラック(CB):カルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC):スチレンブタジエン(SBR)を91:5:2:2の重量比で水に混合して、負極スラリー用組成物を製造した。これを銅集電体にコーティングし、110℃オーブンで約1時間乾燥及び圧延して二次電池用負極を製造した。
前記二次電池用負極、分離膜、電解液(エチレンカーボネート:ジメチルカーボネート(1:1の重量比)の混合溶媒として、1.0M LiPF6添加)、リチウム電極の順に積層して、コインセル(coin cell)形態の二次電池を製造した。
前記Si‐高分子マトリックススラリーの代わりにSiスラリーを単独で使用した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で炭素‐シリコン複合体粉末及びこれを適用した二次電池用負極と二次電池を製造した。
前記炭素‐シリコン複合体粉末の代わりに350℃で蒸発された石炭系ピッチを単独で使用した以外は、実施例1と同じ方法で炭素‐シリコン複合体粉末及びこれを適用した二次電池用負極と二次電池を製造した。
実施例1及び比較例1〜2で製造された二次電池に対して、下記の条件で充放電実験を行った。

- (a)Siスラリーと、高分子モノマーと、架橋剤と、を含むSi‐高分子マトリックススラリーを準備する段階と、
(b)Si‐高分子マトリックススラリーに対して熱処理工程を行って、Si‐高分子炭化マトリックスを製造する段階と、
(c)前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックスを粉砕して、Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子を製造する段階と、
(d)前記Si‐高分子炭化マトリックス粒子と第1炭素原料を混合した後、炭化工程を行う段階と、を含む、炭素‐シリコン複合体の製造方法。 - 前記(a)において、Si‐高分子マトリックススラリー中のSiは、粒子分布で50%累積質量粒子径分布直径をD50としたとき、2nm<D50<180nmである、請求項1に記載の炭素‐シリコン複合体の製造方法。
- 前記(a)において、高分子モノマーは、アクリル酸(acrylic acid)、アクリレート(acrylate)、メチルメタクリル酸(methyl methacrylic acid)、メチルメタクリレート(methyl methacrylate)、アクリルアミド(acryamide)、ビニルアセテート(vinyl acetate)、マイレン酸(maleic acid)、スチレン(styrene)、アクリロニトリル(acrylonitrile)、フェノール(phenol)、エチレングリコール(ethylene glycol)、ラウリルメタクリレート(lauryl

- 前記(b)において、Si‐高分子炭化マトリックスは、前記架橋剤によって架橋結合された網状構造を有する、請求項1に記載の炭素‐シリコン複合体の製造方法。
