Claims (9)
- ワイヤ接続用の電気端子(10,110)であって、
電気コンタクト(18,118)と、
前記電気コンタクトから延伸する圧着バレル(20,120)と
を含み、
前記圧着バレルは、ワイヤ端部(26)周辺に圧着されるように構成され、
前記圧着バレルは、基部(22,122)と、前記基部から延伸する互いに対向する側壁(24,124)を含み、
前記基部と前記側壁は、前記ワイヤ端部を受容するように構成される前記圧着バレルの開口(25,125)を規定し、
前記側壁は、前記基部から端部(50,150)まで外方に延伸し、
前記側壁は、前記基部から延伸する基部セグメント(52,152)と、前記基部セグメントから延伸し前記端部を含む端部セグメント(54,154)を含み、
シールウィング(56,156)は、少なくとも1つの前記側壁の端部から延伸し、
前記側壁は、少なくとも1つの前記側壁の前記端部セグメントと前記基部セグメントとの間に間隙(58,158)が規定されるように前記ワイヤ端部に圧着されるとき、折り曲げられるように構成され、
前記シールウィングは、前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着されるとき、対応する前記側壁の前記端部セグメントと前記基部セグメントの間の前記間隙内に延伸するように構成される電気端子において、
前記圧着バレルは、前記電気コンタクトから延伸するコンタクト端部(32,132)を含み、
前記シールウィングは、前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着されるとき、前記ワイヤ端部の導電体の先端が外部に晒されないように前記圧着バレルの前記コンタクト端部をシールするように構成される電気端子。 - 前記圧着バレルは、前記電気コンタクトから延伸する前記コンタクト端部(32,132)からワイヤ端部(34,134)までの長さを延伸し、
前記圧着バレルが前記ワイヤ端部周辺に圧着されたとき、前記圧着バレルの前記側壁および前記基部は、前記コンタクト端部から前記圧着バレルのワイヤ端部まで前記ワイヤ端部周辺全体に延伸する連続的な囲みを規定する請求項1記載の電気端子。 - 前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着される前において、前記シールウィングは、対応する前記側壁からほぼ前記圧着バレルの前記基部へ向かう方向に延伸する請求項1記載の電気端子。
- 前記ワイヤは、少なくとも1つの前記導電体を含み、
前記側壁は、前記側壁が圧着されるときに前記ワイヤの少なくとも1つの導電体の少なくとも1つに係合する内面(46,146)を含み、
前記側壁が前記ワイヤに圧着されるときに、前記シールウィングは、前記基部セグメントおよび対応する前記側壁の前記端部セグメントの少なくとも1つの内面に係合する請求項1記載の電気端子。 - 前記ワイヤは、少なくとも1つの前記導電体(30)と電気絶縁層(31)を含み、
前記圧着バレルは、前記電気コンタクトから延伸する前記コンタクト端部(32,132)から前記ワイヤの前記電気絶縁層に係合するように構成されるワイヤ端部(34,134)までの長さで延伸し、
前記圧着バレルが前記ワイヤ端部周辺に圧着された後、少なくとも1つの導電体の一部が前記圧着バレルの前記コンタクト端部を過ぎるまで延伸することがない請求項1記載の電気端子。 - 前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着されるときに、前記シールウィングは、前記間隙内で折り曲げられるように構成される請求項1記載の電気端子。
- 前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着される前において、前記シールウィングの少なくとも一部は、前記対応する側壁にほぼ平行に延伸する請求項1記載の電気端子。
- 前記電気端子は、前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着されるときに、前記少なくとも1つの側壁の前記端部セグメントと前記基部セグメントとの間に規定された前記間隙内に延伸するシーラント(62)をさらに含む請求項1記載の電気端子。
- 前記側壁が前記ワイヤ端部に圧着される前において、ポケット部(60,160)が、前記シールウィング(56)と対応する前記側壁との間に規定され、
前記ポケット部は、保持されるシーラントを含む請求項1記載の電気端子。
